So after reading a lot and dealing with my dogs issue of digestive problems-constipation, gas, higher need of fiber in her diet I'm looking into a new food.

It's called Sojos food mix by Sojourner Farms, It's a food mix that you add fresh meat (raw or cooked) and water for a semi homemade, fresher dog food. I'm thinking about doing the grain free version and adding cooked meat because I'm not ready for raw. Or mixing the regular Sojos food mix (cause it's cheaper) with the grain less and fresh cooked meat.

I checked out the company and I like that they do all their own manufacturing, have simple ingredients, and they make it easy to use raw or cooked meat and when you work out the feeding amounts/costs it might be cheaper, even with the cost of fresh meat than innova, wellness, or california natural (which is what I'm feeding now) .

I like the concept, anybody feed this?

What do you guys think?

I am not familiar with Sojos but I feed Honest Kitchen along with raw meat to one of my dogs and she does extremely well on it. :)

I rotate Honest Kitchen into raw feeding, too. Preference is the grain-free "base" formula. Sojos is good, too! :)

Personally, if she's having digestive upset, I would stick with the grain-free mix and fresh meat for a month or so and see if things get better. Even order a digestive aid, to help her adjust. I would wait to add in the formula with grains until you have eliminated grains as being the cause for her problems.

I think Sojos is great.

Like above, I would do the grain free, and I would use the same meat for about a month, probably chicken or turkey, just in case some of the digestive upset is surrounding different proteins. Then if all goes well you can start adding in new proteins and see how it goes.

Those of you who feed The Honest Kitchen, do you do the 50/50 thing as suggested? Did you have to encourage your dog to eat it? I tried to give a sample of Embark to Bailey (plain), and he wouldn't eat it. I probably should have mixed it with his meat, so I may try again. Their customer service is great.

OP, I haven't seen it mentioned here, but See Spot Live Longer is another mix for homemade food which is good if you want to try something else.

Hm, I don't do 50/50. I basically created my own mix of what works for my dog. And I agree, their customer service is awesome. They are really friendly.
