I make large things like ham, or a whole turkey breast, a whole pound of spaghetti, or a couple pounds of chicken at a time. With ham we'll eat it for dinner than have sandwiches and whatever for a couple days (same goes with the turkey and chicken as well). The spaghetti me and Emily can eat almost all week for dinner. I don't know if there is an Aldi's around you but it is a LIFESAVER. We shopped at Sam's for about 3 weeks I had to grab something at Aldi's and looked around while there. We went and got our sam's club membership returned and bought a week and a half's worth of grocery from the $40 we got back from the sam's club membership.

I come from a family of big eaters. My mom didn't make a pot of *whatever*, she made vats. A lot of ethnic foods, real stick-to-the-ribs stuff and she was a darned good cook. I think that gene skipped a generation.

So when my son was young I used to think he was going to starve to death. Picky eater to the extreme. It didn't help that he was a small baby and stayed smaller than the norm his whole childhood. I brought it up with the Pediatrician and the man chuckled. Said his growth rates were fine, just to make sure he was getting a balanced diet.

Then, *boom*, along came puberty and he became a body with a refrigerator attached. He still doesn't eat HUGE meals but his eating is pretty much constant. He shot up in height so fast I swear it must've hurt (definitely hurt my pocketbook buying him clothes!). Cereal..... oh man..... told my husband we should buy a house next to Kellogg's and get a dairy cow!

None of mine are Teens yet but Josie (11) is a very picky eater and has as little as she can get away with.
Harry (8) eats what i would say is the "Norm" for his age.
Maddison (4) OMG that girl eats...and eats...and eats.........and yet she never grows :(

I remember my son having instant growth spurts.......and eating like a horse. lol he is soooo thin, too. he's now 28, still a rail...but almost 6'3" of eating machine to this day. when he visits I know I make more food in one day than we would eat in a few normally. LOL I must tell you that I never saw him ever eat anything from my garden. how funny!! more like pizzas and the meat/taters kind of guy. :)

My son recently moved back from SC. He's 19, 6'2 and 225lbs of muscle. My grocery bill has doubled since he's been back. We no longer have leftovers either. Yes, they all eat like that, at least boys. My daughter is 18 and is a picker, hardly even eats at home cause she's always on the go.
