This and that Chi you rescued, correct? May I ask why you went out and got a Chihuahua when you were already struggling financially? Honestly, I'm not trying to be nit-picky and judgmental, but when you have a child and another dog to think of, why would you go out and get another? I LOVE dogs and would be heartbroken if I had to live without one, but I would rather have no dog than have one and not be able to properly care for it.
I agree that small dogs are inexpensive to feed; Ripley eats his weight (5lbs or so) in Innova EVO each month. Costs about $15 for the 6lb bag. However, that doesn't make him cheap or somehow easier to own than a large dog. Have you considered that a MIN PIN may not like your child? What are you going to do when that tiny, delicate dog with an attitude (and most minpins DO have an attitude) bites her? Trade that one in, too?

The Chi is gone.Long gone to a old lady with no grand kids.I had my Shepherd sold but the lady backed out due to no money. He was supposed to be gone.It is a little different with a un socialized abused ch than a puppy that I will socialize.I have had a min pin that was awesome with kids but the ex made me get rid of that dog too.Shots and vet care cost money but my vet is good and works with me.Food is the least of it.
