Sooo...I have flat, stick strait hair. I have no problems with grease, or split ends. I generally love my hair. But it falls out like mad. I shed worse than Lucy. Is this something shampoo could fix?

Ok, I just bought the Simply U - because it was cheap, easy to find, and close by. I decided I want to have multiple bottles now (I am OCD so I usually only have one shampoo and one conditioner and they stay until they're gone) soooooo, Where can I find these:

Way better than my Organix, which stripped my red colored hair to a clean blonde.
Oooohhhh so glad you said this. I die my hair red and that would make me very upset! Plus, I totally got sucked in by the packaging and name!

I'm using John Frieda's Root Awakening. It's gentle on my bright red dyed hair. It's not Sulfate Free, but it's pretty good anyway. Way better than my Organix, which stripped my red colored hair to a clean blonde.

And it gets bonus points for being cheap.
I'm one of the henna heads, although it's really close to my natural color, but since I switched to SLS and paraben free I have ZERO fade.

I stick with my lush rehab and american cream ones. They're not SLS and paraban free but every brand that I tried that was, made my hair disgustingly greasy and limp and my scalp was flaky.

I can use lush, aveeno, or Joico. Nothing else.

That's one of the problems I was having that made me switch to SLS and paraben free shampoos, Cali.
Hrm...I was using TreSemme Naturals that says it's "lower sulfates", but maybe that's not good enough.

What is the price range we're talking on these fancy shampoos? I'm used to basically getting it for free (or under $2) with coupons...not sure I can stomach $20/bottle shampoo!

That's the one I've found I like best after trying a lot over the last several years :)

Except for the shampoo bar I got from Mehandi, but I don't really think I liked it any better than this stuff overall except for the ylang ylang scent.

When you get rid of the SLS and parabens it may take several shampoos for your hair to literally detox, so give it some time :)

Also, if you want to add body and lustre, try amla powder (www.mehandi.com). It's also awesome for your skin!

I like nioxin for my super thin hair, but I used to have someone who could buy it for me at Cosmoprof - now I'm finding its really, REALLY expensive :(

I have flat, straight hair that gets greasy if I skip a day's shower or if I use the wrong Shampoo. I LOVE Lush's Daddyo Shampoo:

Their Antiphilitron Shampoo:

Their Ultimate Shine Shampoo Bar (usually anything that has "shine" or "nourish" in the name makes my hair greasy, but not this one):

And their Veganese Conditioner:

Unfortunately, they discontinued my absolute favorite shampoo "The Blonde." :( I'm liking Daddyo and Antiphilitron, though. I switch out between the two of them every few days. I only used the Shine bar a few times, but I liked it, as well.

I used to wash my hair pretty much every day because it seemed dirty and greasy if i didnt. I then did several rounds of no poo (baking soda) but kept going back to every day with harsh shampoos. I have for over a year now been washing about 2x a week and it is wonderful!!! Took a bit for my hair to adjust but is so worth it. Some people condition in between but my hair does not need that. I will use dry shampoo if I am going somewhere kind of nice and it needs some help

This is one of my weird loves - trying new shampoos!

I currently rotate between:

Yes To Carrots Nourishing shampoo

(works amazing at taming frizz but I'm not a huge fan of the scent)

Great Clips Tea Tree Solutions shampoo

(DH's, but is great smelling and really works on itchy, dry scalps, but is not as good on frizz, though)

and Everyone Soap Citrus Mint shampoo/body wash

(good basic shampoo, decent on frizz/itchies, smells AMAZING)

I like Avalon Organics, Beauty Without Cruelty, Whole Foods 365, and a ton of others but the above seem to be working well so I'll prob stick with them for a while.
I use the great clips shampoo and conditioner. I love it, makes my scalp tingly also. I have naturally oily hair and it works really well in removing the oil without over drying.

To those who don't wash their hair that often.. how do you deal with sniffy boyfriends?

Mine loves to smell my hair. All the time. Which makes me wash it more because he is always in there (lol yes, he's a weirdo.) So now I'm buying shampoo because it smells good and not because it's actually that good for my hair

There are some good revitalizing sprays that smell good, used to kind of freshen up. Or dry shampoo, or you could just add a bit of essential oil to water and lightly spritz:)

soooooo, Where can I find these:
I think you can get all 3 of them on Amazon. I get Kiss My Face at Publix (grocery store) for $6 and the Alba Botanica for maybe $8 in the all natural/organic products section.

I order Mixed Chicks from Amazon. I think it's $40 or $50 for the large pump bottle.

I have to wash my hair every 2 days or it's greasy and gross... I've been using fructis (the 95% biodegradable one) and it seems to be working ok... but I'm totally clueless about hair care.

What is frizz anyway? I hear it all the time and I'm clueless.
