Spin off of the Naming thread: What are some of your favorite names that you've heard?

I'm not asking you to spill your secret future names (since I know some of you guard those with your life :p ) but what names have you heard online and in real life that you just love or struck you as a perfect name for that dog?

So.... Basically all the names ever? LOL. :p

I really do like Squash though. Both the name and the dog crack me up.

I really adore Sylphrena's name haha.

I have one other name but it falls into the guard-with-my-life category. Even if I didn't care to share it, another member of this forum really likes it too and I think she'll kill me. So I'm guarding it voluntarily, and at the same time I'm just trying to stay alive.

I know someone who named their dog Light. It's kinda cheesy (well hey, I like cheese) but it goes with so many nicknames and jokes that it's great. I went on a night walk with them and they put a light on her vest. Wow, the jokes were endless. And a lot of cheesy phrases got coined out of love ;)

Backup, Sloan, Quinn, Squash, Shambles, Teller, Replay, Crash. Oh and Edgar and Pip are perfect names for the respective dogs, so I love those names, too.

I also like that my crazy cat is dubbed Squirrelcat/Spawn/Zombie/SpazzAttack and my snake's name Caution is perfect for him.

This is more in response to the other thread, but while I'm here, I should mention that typically I kinda sorta hate people names for dogs. Naturally I end up with a dog named Trent and a cat named Bree :p Both were named because they just "looked" like one and so it works, I guess.

Not counting my own dogs' names, lol, I really like the names Backup and Didgeridoo :)

I also really like the name Privy...although in my head it belongs on a herder, which I don't foresee myself having. So I have no idea what to do with that, lol

I don't really have a favorite name(s). And I tend to think most animals' names suit them very, very well. There have only been a handful of times I have met a dog and wanted to call it something other than its name.

There is a Goldendoodle client that boards with us and I asked someone what his name was, because I kept wanting to call him Watson. Turns out, his name was Watson. :p

For Futuredogs, Sherman will likely be a male Retriever, as that was our other name option that Abrams could have been. Cadence for a girl Retriever, definitely. Likely a black Labrador girlie, as that is what I'd like my next dog to be. If I end up with a female Chessie, I'm not sure if Cadence will work...may be a bit too "soft" sounding for what I envision for a Chessie.

I also really like the name Bayou, for whatever reason.

I can't even remember at this point if it was an actual dog, or just a name suggestion I saw somewhere, but Melee either was a Mal, or suggested for one. I really like that one.

This is me, too.

I like a lot of names because they just fit so well. I can't really think of any that I'd use for future dogs.

I'm biased, but I like Crossbone's name and I hope future puppy will fit one of the names on our list!

my next dog will probably be named "Kennel Name Vashta Nerada"

Sticking with my current theme of naming dogs after rivers & mountains, I really want an Everest (If anyone takes that name, I will find you.....)

"Perry" is one of the names I want to use for Payton puppies (after The Fridge) - and I just flat out think it's kind of adorable as a dog name. I hope whoever gets Perry keeps it haha. It makes me think of Perry the Platypus too... which... adorable.

My favorite client dog is named Perry. I end up calling him "Winkle" a lot (periwinkle, hurr). Love the name.

There's a GSD that goes to the dog park named Kenya. I've never thought of that as a dog name but somehow it suits her PERFECTLY and I love it on her.

A guy I went to high school with as a little Corgi puppy named Watson and I think that name is adorable.

It's a great name (I am not saying that because it's my kiddo's middle name, lol)

Oh, I also like the name Rooney. I don't know what I'd give the name to...maybe a guinea pig or somesuch :)

I love Watson and I think it suits him so well.

I'm partial to my girl figments name too!

Love Trent, it always makes me think of some badass undercover detective.

This is going to be totally weird if I'm wrong, but I think Fran used to have a bi-color GSD named Kenya? It was a great name for her (or whoever that dog belonged to, if I'm wrong :p ).

Oh, I totally forgot Figment! I really love that name (and I swear I'm not just saying that, I think I expressed my love for the name in her intro thread!). It is so pretty and reminds me of things wispy and feathery and dreamy.

And omg thank you for liking Trent's name. :rofl1: Because these threads always make me think "dang, I really, really should have spent more time choosing a good dog name!" LOL But he looks like such a Trent that it ends up working out.

I loved Savvy's name, when his owner still posted here. That's such a cool name! Zip Tie is amazing. Love Gusto. Fergus is absolutely perfect.

There are sooo many great names, even just on here, for me to list.

I absolutely adore the name my cousin gave her dog, Arlo. I wish I would have thought of that first.

I really really liked the ACD Meagan had for awhile named Story. I thought that was a fantastic name.

Love Bean, Smalls, Taboo, Circus, Backup

I had a Mastiff/Dane mix in one of my classes that was the most lumbering goof of a dog and his name was Tony and it was perfect. There is also this dog in the daycare at my work named Argyle and I love that name.
