Okay I looked and I couldnt find any other threads about this, tell me if I'm wrong though. Okay here I go: What is everyones favorite dog breed? It doesnt have to be the one they own either...

Mine would probaly be a Border Collie because of their endless amount of energy, (like me) and how intellgent they are. My friend had a border collie, that would go and get the phone, remote ect. ect. for her if she was to lazy to go get the object herself. She pointed to the object and said "retrieve" and he did so, bringing it back to her only expecting a "good boy" in return.

We have had threads like this before, but another doesnt hurt I suppose.

For me its the APBT. Just because they are so happy go lucky and they LOVE their family as well as other people. Amazing with kids. They have endless energy to do outdoorsy things, activities, and games. An all around fun dog. Zest for life. They are not a guardian breed, but Reggin is quite protective of his loved ones.

I got quite a lot, but I'd pick just one. The Hungarian Vizsla, just because they have an overall GREAT temperament. Not to mention they are soooo cute and bouncy!:p

Does anyone need to ask?

Why? Because they're just plain awesome! Papillons are fun, happy, loving, energetic, versatile, brilliant, hilarious, drivey, quirky, beatiful little dogs. I could go on about them forever and I don't think I could truly describe what this breed is and is capable of. They never cease to amaze me and there is no other breed like them. I feel very blessed to have known so many wonderful individuals of this amazing breed. I can promise I will have many more in the future.

ETA: I found this post from a while back explaining WHY this breed is so amazing to me:

Why? Because they are brilliant and clever. They're widely considered the smartest of the toy breeds and one of the most intelligent dog breeds. They're easily trained and very athletic. They're easy to groom, portable, and they have the best personalities of ANY dogs I've ever met. They're sweet, and they're hilarious little dogs. They adore people and are very sensitive. Someone once said they aren't a dog, they're an extension of their owner. That's how it is with any of mine. They bond to their people unlike any other dogs I've ever been around or owned.

One of the top agility dogs.

They're perfect as a service dog because of their trainability and closeness with their people.

They can do obedience with the best of them.

What's not to love? (Poor Rose in the middle- that's my little sister holding her)

Oh my, I don't even need to think about my favorite breed.

Pit Bull, all the way! I love the way they bounce, the way they run, the way they wiggle and shimmy, the way they never put down a challenge, the way they kiss, the way they..ahh I just would never change one thing about them!! Now, I would change the way people hate them, though. I love pittie bulls with all my heart!

Pits have been my favorite breed for a very, very long time now; longer than any one of my favorite breeds I've had in the past. They're an all around dog, doing everything and anything you want them to do. Anything.

Uh, it's not obivous yet? :p

Border Collie. I love how much they can teach you. About everything. Herding is a very humbling thing you can do. I love the respect they teach you, the loyality, and unconditional love they give.
Grace said something a while ago in a thread about Border Collies. "They look at that one person as though they are there one and only". I now know, she was total right.
Blaze gives me his whole-hearted loyality and it blows me away that this breed could be this way.

Border Collies will always be my heart breed now :)

Large:
Doberman. Preferably the blacks, but I like blues and reds, too. <3
Small
Either a Tibetan Spaniel or a Pom. My heart dog is a Tibby and I'm afraid to get another after her because I know it could never be like her.

I love golden retrievers. They just look so majestic to me. If I had a big yard and time to brush one, I'd have one in a heart beat.

Really though, all my favorite dogs have been mutts. There's something so cute and loveable about a dog with mismatched characteristics and a goofy grin :)

I have a large list though!!

Firstly, Dachshunds. I didn't use to like them when I was younger cause I have never been without one my entire life, but they have grown on me and I will NEVER ever be without one. Someday I do wish to show one, or two. (Chocolate dapple, or Isabella and tan preferably). And I rarely find people on all breed forums that like them, so I think they are misunderstood. They are amazing, and brilliant dogs! And their stubbornness just shows that someday they WILL rule the world ;)

I also LOVE Anatolian Shepherds. I LOVE Bull terriers, they are the only bully breed I see myself owning. And I have a new found love for Border Collies.

American Cocker Spaniel. Everyone else seems to dislike them and I really don't get why. I can't imagine not having just one in my life. Sweet, smart, and just all around good company. I also love LOVE Clumber Spaniels. I was actually on the list to get one from a great breeder this christmas. But since I rescued Sawyer I can't take on anouther dog right now. But someday I will have my Clumber :).

I love Border Collies. For all of the reasons Jennifer listed. : )
I have actually second-guessed BCs as my ideal breed in the past... because it doesn't seem like a natural fit. As far as my personality, I'm not the Border Collie type, but they compliment my personality perfectly. I also allowed several of the obnoxious BCs I've met waver my feelings about the breed... I assumed that Gonzo was atypical, and he just happened to fit me perfectly... but the more time I spend with friends' Border Collies, I realize how much I love working with them and how much I have learned about handling them from Gonzo. Sometimes, it hits me how spoiled I am by working with Border Collies... I expect every dog to be so attentive, and intuitive, and willing to learn, but no other breed is quite like them. I love how they are SO desperate for some one to guide them and give them a purpose, and how eager they are for approval of any kind. It is so, so true, that a Border Collie picks one person as "their" person, and as that person, you feel very lucky to be so loved. I have grown fond of the quirks and idosyncrasies that are particular to the breed, and how their personalities are so distinguished from any other.

I love Corgis, too, everything about them.
I love Cardigans & Pembrokes, but I definitely prefer the former, because they tend to be much more easy-going and I prefer the tails/heads/structure of Cardigans. As far as their personalities, they are a very obvious fit to mine. I like how Corgis contrast Border Collies, and I hope I always have both breeds at any given point in my life. Corgis are very smart and they can "turn on" when you need them to, but most of the time they are very laid back (in comparison to BCs of course) and goofy. There is never, ever a dull moment when you're in the presence of a Corgi.
