I've given up thinking I can pick a favorite or least favorite color in any species. It seems that whenever I say, "Oh, I'd never own one of that color" I end up with one. Who I promply fall in love with, and become convinced it is the most beautiful color imaginable.

Which is why, after years of saying I'd never own a chestnut horse or a brindle dog, I now think those colors are beautiful.

That and I really don't have a 'breed'.

Red sables. Der. :D

I really love a dark, rich red sable. Generally, though, I just like sables. I've had only 3 dogs that weren't sable!

Actually, I just generally prefer dark red in any breed I like that comes in red. My favorite bc color is red and white, too. In shelties, I love the mahogany sables the most (like Trey). I like bi blacks in shelties and in bcs too, but not so much in papillons. Merle is iffy for me. I like it on certain dogs but other dogs not at all.

In Westies it's pretty easy - white.

In Stabijs I prefer black and white... minimum white on the body and a nice black head.

I hated grey. I didn't like arabs. Then I got Velvet.. 3/4 arab and grey lol. At one time I had 7 grey horses so when we got our own place I called it Greywynd (if you can't beat 'em- join 'em)

Now I love grey.

BC's - deep reds are absolutley beautiful but I have a very handsome tri (I freely admit with great pride I am a biased mom) and I love the traditional blk/wht,

Aussies - the blue merle or black tri

but over all its the dog not the color for me

I LOVE black dogs. Solid black, no white showing through anywhere. Especially in Greyhounds I find it stunning.

For the Alapahas I'm pretty partial to either a Red or Blue merle with as little white as possible. Even though the current standard calls for 60% white, which I'm just not a fan of.

Border Collies are my breed.... I LOVE love LOVE black and whites... rough coated.... aaand I have two tri medium coats. I've seen a lot of really beautiful merles and reds though that made me drool. I have my heart set on a merle monster at the moment.

Shepherds acceptable colours are deep rich colours. I like the deep red tan and black but am partial to the blacks also.

in APBTs I like Tan (from very light to nearly red) & White with or without some black on the face. I would be okay with mainly tan too, but I'd want at least a little white on the bridge of the nose and chest or something like that.

Chihuahua = long haired, white
Schnauzer = "flashy" black and silver
Aussie = red merle (love anything red merle!)
Greyhoudn = orange spotted, or just spotted

Any white dog with spots, or nice merle spotting.
Though not a fan of dogs that have half-faces of just one color.

Definately the all whites are my all time favorites in the German Shepherds. My second favorites is the all blacks.

In my breeds....

With shih tzus...don't have a fav color in particular, they really aren't 'my breed' of dogs, they just came into my life...which I don't regret, but I wouldn't actively go looking for one, same with bichons, but they only come in white anywho.

In Dachshunds I like...

black/tan dapple...

and 2nd chocolate/tan dapple...

And in my favorite breed the bull terrier I like..

white with an eye patch, not too fond of all white...

and 2nd brindle...

In Aussies, a dark self merle, or at least very minimal trim colors.
Dalmatians, liver.
Dobermans, I used to think that if I ever got one that I would get a red and now that I have a black dog, I don't know if I'll have another color.
Beaucerons, I would LOVE a Harlequin.
