Astroboy and Road Runner were two of my favorites. But I grew up with the Simpsons and it's still going!

How has nobody said Transformers yet!

Ninja Tutles
He-Man
ThunderCats
Astro Boy
Garfield
Ghostbusters
Ducktales
The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show
Teddy Ruxpin
Smurfs

That's all I can remember off hand...

We had real cartoons back then... not all this stuff about dragons coming out of a ball, or a playing card and everybody on earth being a samurai.

Hmmm ok Im really going to date myself. I can remember watching the following with my brother and sister:

Ultraman
Speed Racer
Local Shows: Sally Star, Gene London, Capt. Noah (Sundays) Capt Kangaroo
I also remember watching:
Astro Boy
Marine Boy
G-Force (that was the one where they had bird like helmets and capes correct?) if so I remember it too
I loved the animaniacs songs they were great teaching tools for the kids

My down fall is that I CANNOT stand slapstick hated the 3 Stooges
I hate the cartoons of today they are moronic the animation is poor and alot of what they are teaching (if anything) is just wrong.

does anyone remember the little "cartoons that taught about the country, and grammer and math? I cant remember for the life of me what they were called

But they had Conjunction Junction, and Im just a Bill, and songs about multipilcation ect. they were great

I used to watch those local shows too pawz! Captain Noah and Kangaroo, Sally Starr. How about the "creature double feature" on channel 17 or whatever UHF channel it was, lol.

I watched Speed Racer and some of those others but they weren't my favorites. The Bugs Bunny type stuff always was and still is.

G-FORCE! I remember! I loved how the girl's weapon was a yo-yo of doom, LOL.
YESSSS!!!! I'm not the only one! :D

I did some looking last night because I got curious about the show and what I read on wikipedia. Turns out the origial Gatchaman is even better as it has all the violence and none of the 7-dot-7 stuff that was added into battle of the planets for the North American audience. **you can tell from this that it was too cold to go out with Jake or the camera last night :lol-sign: **

I think animation started going downhill in the 60s (anyone remember the Beatles' cartoon show? Good music but animation? Bleah!)
My favorites: The original Roadrunner, The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, Animaniacs, Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck (didn't really care for Sylvester and Tweety).
