I'm at a store right now and have a cute poncho in my hands. It's gray, not too thick, triangle shaped, with the ends stopping at the middle of my thighs. It looks cute with a simple black longsleeve shirt and dark jeans.

Question: I'm far from skinny... Can chunky people wear these? I know that I should wear what I want... Bla bla... But I am realistic enough to know that there is stuff that just doesn't work beyond a size 4.

Help?!

IME if you arent certain about it dont buy it because you will end up not wearing it. I have no idea about the fashion part of it though lol

Very good words to live by for anyone. As long as you aren't certain about it because of fit, color or what not. The "guilty Mom issue" is a whole other story.
Although that does not work for impulse buyers. LOL they rarely give themselves time to second guess what they are buying.

I am one of those people that put it back, then for days wish I had bought it.
I don't think you should worry too much about not being thin enough to wear a poncho, low rise jeans and a belly shirt I would re-think, but a poncho I think would look good on someone with a few pounds extra pounds.

Ditto what Sparks said, but I've also seen bigger gals wearing nice ponchos who look fab. I think the key is not layering too much (I'm on the big side, too).
