Yours and mine must be in the same batch or something, Tortilla, as I got the same reply to my previous email, saying last weekend.
I did get another reply late last night saying that they would send pictures later today after the finishing touches, so maybe both of ours will be here soon.
Aww, don't feel bad. I still recommend Fetching Tags to people even though I've heard of service problems, because they've always been fabulous for me. Hopefully this tag will blow me away (I'm a little scared, because it seemed like kind of a complex design, but she said it was do-able) and I'll be so impressed I will wind up forgiving the service. If it was just a tag for me, I don't think I'd even care much about the turn around time. But it's getting kind of awkward seeing my friend when I said 5 weeks ago that I had a present coming any time for him.

Updating because I know I do searches for old threads constantly when I'm looking for something, and I wanted this to be carried through to the end.
Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since I paid for the tag; I got a photo of the finished product yesterday, and it really does look fabulous. The design I had hoped for had quite a few small details, and they did a great job carrying it over to the tag. They also shipped it overnight for me at their expense when I said that I did find the turn around time frustrating since it was for a gift.
The tag hasn't actually arrived as promised, but according to the tracking, that is not the fault of the company at all. I'm assuming this miserable weather we are having is what's holding it up.
So while I remain disappointed by the long wait and the lack of communication about it, they did really step up and handle things well at the end - and the tag looks like it is going to be nicer than I'd hoped. I might not use the company again for something with an actual "due date" like a gift, but might do so for a tag for myself or something.

I have a tag from "critter bling" I think, on Etsy, for Ozzy that I love. If I were to go back to the thicker tags I'm not sure who I'd go to at this point :/

I really wanted a tag from AA, but didn't want the wait. Didn't want to pay the price for FT for just a stamped tag.
I ended up going through an Etsy shop called TagMePetTags. They custom designed 2 for me and then I got a stock tag all for less than $80. They were great to work with, even when I had to put them on hold for a year. I think from the time I ordered to the time they got to my house was maybe 2 weeks??
I really like the quality of the tags and they have been holding up well. I'll try and get pictures later.

The one I got was etched, not stamped. I actually thought the price was really reasonable for the level of detail and customization.
The tag did arrive today, and really does look fantastic. A bit heavy (I'm spoiled by how light weight the Fetching Tags are), but nothing that will be an issue for the intended dog as he grows. I am curious if they are made any lighter for smaller dogs.
Obviously it was too long of a wait for my tastes - but for what it is worth, the quality of the tag and how well they handled getting it shipped out rush did do a lot to improve my feelings about the company. I certainly wouldn't use them again for another "hey this is a cool gift to give out next month!", but I might go back at some point.
