Anyone on here a falconer or prospective falconer?
How did you get started?
What club are you in?
Do you have a falconry dog or a ferret? What breed?
What bird do you fly? How long have you had it?
What are the past birds you've trained and flown?

I'm about to start my apprenticeship! I've got my hunting license, my sponsor, the equipment and next summer I will have the facility ready. Oh, and I've got my GSP pup! In just a little more than two years and I'll finally get to fly :) I'm in love with the little American Kestrel but my sponsor said I'll be ready for something a bit more advanced by the time I'm done. :D Exciting!

This is seriously the coolest thing ever. I've been enchanted with falconry ever since reading My Side of the Mountain in fourth grade. Cool luck!

There is some great advice on falconry forums; International & North American.

I should read that :)

ME TOO! :D

I know NOTHING about falconry, but I'd love to learn more. Keep us posted!
I definitely will. I'll try to post pictures of my sponsors birds when I can; Regal is a Peregrine Falcon, Ruby is a Red Tailed Hawk and Quinn is a Goshawk. :D

My dad was thinking about getting into Falconry and we met some of the birds of his trainer but in the end he decided he didn't have enough time and the bird probably wouldn't get enough attention if he did get one.

Same here as well!!

I also want to dig out a tree and live in it, but I think that's less likely.
