Woke up this morning and Harleigh's eye was a bit swollen and red, doesn't seem to be bothering her very much, but she does occasionally rub it.

Thought maybe it was her allergies or something similar, so I gave her some Benadryl earlier and it took the swelling down some. Her eye was perfectly fine last night, so it really did come up overnight.

Any ideas? Also, she has Agility class tonight... I'm not sure if we should still go or not? Wouldn't be able to get into the vet until tomorrow afternoon either.

I've done some "researching" online and Conjunctivitis seems to be popping up a bit. (obviously I take this with a grain of salt, but figured it wouldn't hurt to look around ;)) Dog Pink Eye Symptoms, Treatments, Contagious, and More

Hi, I'm new but I worked as a vet tech. Conjunctivitis is just basically a generic term meaning there's swelling and reddness to the eye area. I'd doubt it's allergies and only effecting one eye, especially if there's no other symptoms. Most likely - he probably just got something in there that irritated it (dirt, grass etc.). The vet will most likely give you rx eye drops that should clear it up quickly. **Make sure they do a thorough exam of the eye though - a stain test especially to check for a possible scratch.

Rosco had something like that once, I figured he just got bit by a bug as he went away the next day or so. I personally wouldnt do agility class.

My dog has this all the time, but I noticed it gets worse if he has any kind of infection. Is it oozing out green fluid??
