eye infection?

my 5 month old vizsla has a milky/green tint buildup in the corner of his eye after sleeping. any ideas what it could be and how to fix it?

Maybe a cold in his eye. If worried, call your vet and just ask.

VET! There are no home remedies for an eye infection. If you had an eye infection, would you start putting random household products on your eye, under the advice of random people on some forums?! Take the dog to the vet, if he can't open his eye, then it is very uncomfortable for him.... wouldn't you want to see a doctor, if it was your eye?

What are you feeding?
When I got Dante he had that - off to the vet we went - Conjunctivitis (sp) - Meds - off meds it came back.
I changed Dante off the Nutro I was feeding and it's never come back
