New TV special on TLC. Looks like Toddlers and Tiaras but with nuts who cut and colour their poodles into crazy styles.

I think it airs at 9pm EST. I'm too curious not to watch.

Yea i saw that. I think a little fun with Grooming here & there But to have your dog stand there for hours for your entertainment is sad.
Of course i will watch the first show lol It's like a car accident you can't help but watch.

Oh don't get me wrong, I looove creative grooming, as long as you're using products that aren't harmful. I dyed my ferret pink, remember? :rofl1:

This just... judging by the preview, seems like the owners are mad. Absolutely mad. They even showed one woman saying "some of things we do I'm SURE should be illegal..." or something like that. I hope she's joking.

That's why I compared it to Toddlers and Tiaras. Seems more focused on showing how nutso the "parents" are then whether or not the "kids" actually win the pageant. (the poodles are in competitions in this show).

EDIT: Have some pics. It airs tomorrow night.

I'll tune in. It should be interesting.

I, too, like creative grooming, and I don't think a long grooming session (standing for hours) is inherently cruel. Many of these dogs ENJOY the grooming process, and it can be a bonding time between a dog and their owner. Though it does depending heavily on the techniques/products used.

Oh, well, I'll dye my brats again, I'm sure. Maybe I'll get some ideas....

Roller derby poodle. A definite winner. That is, if any of these dogs can be said to be winners. Whoever said, "It's like a train wreck; you just have to watch" is totally correct!

Buffalo Poodle kick rollerderby poodles bootay!!! :p

Ahahaha those are amazing. When there are dogs starving and living their lives in backyards... I cannot pity these dogs at all. They look happy, and super well trained. I would do it if I could!

I don't see a problem with it, heck show dogs are kept on the grooming table the same amount of time. Plus it looks like they get to do some of the "work" at home.

I'm excited to see it!!!

I think for most dogs it is probably not an issue. Grooming is attention and they probably get more than a lot of dogs out there:p

Now if they tried to even brush my corgi she would let them know its not gona happen:cool: Have had the dog over ten years now and brushing her can be a huge ordeal. There are other dogs and cats to chase and biting the brush is a constant.

I just hope the show doesn't encourage people to buy poodles thinking that making them into works of art is easy!

Would definitely watch it if I got the channel, maybe someone will torrent it for me.

Some of that is bizarre, but really cool.

Honestly I think if they do it in parts it's not that bad. A lot of dogs really like being groomed. My guess is they probably do something like dye the dog one day, cut their hair the next, etc. and don't make the dog stand and have that done for 15 hours straight (which is I'm sure how long it takes...if it's even possible to do in one day).
