I don't know how many of you remember us, but Coco had her exploratory surgery yesterday. She is now home, mad at mommy for leaving her at the awful vet's office, & eating like there's no tomorrow.

Coco was dribbling, even on Proin. She was spay incontinent, my vet told me. She will turn 2 on July 14th. A few weeks ago, the vet I was using told me "Well, she might just have to get used to it!" in refernce to Coco still dribbling while on Proin. So, I called a real vet named Shirley to see her. Shirley said there had to be something more wrong, so scheduled surgery. Shirley explained this all to me this morning, & I hope I am interpreting it correctly.

Coco had adhesions or legions where her uterus & bladder joined. Apparently, the vet who spayed her didn't take enough of the uterus, he left too much in her & it attached to her bladder, causing all the problems. Coco isn't spay incontinent. In time, with the vet's help, I will wean her off Proin. For now, she gets 3 pills 2x a day: Proin, Antibiotics, & garlic(for fleas). She will not take any of them voluntarily, so I have to be a meanie & force her to take them. Her bladder was very flacid, so the vet didn't know when she would regain control. So far, I haven't seen any dribbles & Coco's been home for 5 hours. She hasn't peed since midnight, so this is a very good sign. It's raining outside & her tummy hurts, so she doesn't want to go out.

I will try to post some pics of her. She has pretty pink stitches. We go back in two weeks to have the stitches removed & discuss her progress. I know I don't spend much time here other than to update on Coco & get advice, but thanks a million for the advice!

Glad thing are looking up ! This is real proof that a good vet for spaying or neutering is more important than the few $$ saved !
