For me, Emma usually gets two walks after school. First one is around 5 and there really is no set place in which I take her. The second walk we go on is at 7:30pm. Emma and I walk about 5 minutes to an offleash park and meet up with some of our dog park friends. We let the dogs run around for an hour-ish and then I walk the long way which is about 15-20 minutes. Emma goes out with a dog walker too during the day however, that's not really "my" walk schedule.

Lets hear yours...

When Kharma comes to work with me, we usually take at least one walk through downtown.

We cross the street and walk next to the railroad tracks for a couple of blocks where she picks up all sorts of scents and Kharma usually marks a couple of times, then we walk the third block behind a row of stores before turning the corner and coming back up the sidewalk on the main street of the downtown area.

When we get to one particular attorney's office, Kharma always stops and nudges the door. She's done that ever since we walked by last Spring and the door was open and his secretaries were standing around talking, saw Kharma, had a fit, and just HAD to give her several cups of water from the cooler, lol! She never forgets anything!

When we turn back down the street toward the store, she looks in the windows of the restaurant we pass, then looks back at me and nudges me toward the door with her nose :D

Meg's morning "walk" consists of her stepping off the front porch, looking around briefly, sniffing the air, and walking back inside. She is the only dog I've met who pretty much never needs to go to the bathroom in the morning.

She goes to work with me on the horse farm, so she's there running around off-leash from about 7:30am - 1:30/2:00pm. There are between 1 and 4 or 5 other dogs there at all times, so she gets a lot off running/playing time.

Every night, unless we have agility class, we walk the 50 yards or so to the green in our neighborhood and play fetch for 20 minutes or so.

We also do a few off-leash hikes throughout the week at various parks/woods. Really, the bulk of her exercise is her time at work.

Our morning walk is down the alleyway where we get to chase loads of squirells lol and then we go through the park, that usually takes about 20 mins. Through the day when I'm at school my mum will take her to the park and then when I get home we go for an hours walk in the woods.

In the morning at about 7:00 a.m. we go for a morning walk that's usually about 30 min. If it's a nice day and I have time, I'll take him again at 11:00 for about 20-30 min. Then again around 4:00 p.m. Then get another short one before bedtime.

Usually in the late evenings Stella and I go for a walk around the block and to the grassy field she likes.

I start with Missy, then I take Maddie-
We leave the house, turn left and walk down the sidewalk. Then we turn left and proceed down the block, but we stop halfway down the street and cut through the park. If the park has too many people I put their retractable leash on and let them run. If not, I let them off leash and we walk through the park until we get to the end (which is actually the entrance because we cut through the back)
Then we get back on the sidewalk and continue to go around the big block. Its a big block because theres so many dead end roads that I need to go farther to cut back up and turn to go back toward my house. It's a decent amount of exersize... Lucky me, I do it many times because I walk them separately most days.
Because of Charlie's weight, age, and activity level I just walk him to the park, and then turn around and walk home when we reach the end (entrance).

That's just the normal everyday walk. I should take more pictures of our hikes and the trails... hmmm.... lol

10 minutes (around the park and back) in the morning, 1 hour of fetch/walking at lunch, 20 minutes of fetch/agility and 40 minutes of walking around 6, then a quick walk right before bed.

Smokey gets a 5-10 minute walk first thing in the morning (to pee) in my condo complex which has alot of lawns... Then about 3/4 hour later I take her to the County park about 2 miles from my home where we do about 2.5 miles on a paved path thru the woods which is great looking. In the afternoon, I take her to the brand new park behind my home which is officially opening next saturday and we do one lap which is abour 1.4 miles, with a stop at the doggy park. Today there were 4 other dogs at the doggy park, and Smokey and this one Terrier ran around at top speed chasing each other for about 20 minutes. I bet she sleeps well tonight.

I have a trail behind my house and the dogs go running off leash through the woods there about four times a week. It's very relaxing for me and they enjoy it a lot.

my walks consist of milo grabbing his leash and running through the house, me catching him and wrestling the leash out of his mouth, trapping him between my legs to get the collar on, and heading for the door, then feeling bad cause my mom's dogs look at me like "what about us" so i have to get their collars on with milo jumping all over them, then we start walking, the puppies leashes get tangled, milo chokes himself (i recently got him a harness and am soon going to try a head halter), the other puppy gets tired and lies down in the middle of the street, they see a bird and go nuts, and god help us if we run into another dog.

this thanksgiving i'm going to be thankful for having a decent sized backyard.

I drop my little guy at preschool and then the dogs and I go for a walk through the trails. It's about 10 minutes of trails until we get to an open area where they retrieve a frisbee for an hour or so. iu have to make them take little walk breaks or they go until their tongues turn blue. Crazy dogs. In the evenings we either go to agility or rally-o or we'll do a bit of training or they'll fetch a hollee roller while DH and I sit on couch and watch tv.

I don't know what to say except I love your post. Its sort of Norman Rockwell...a real domestic scene.

My walks are four dogs in the back of my Subaru and off down the road for about 2 miles or maybe its a bit more. And then we park near a trail head and go for it. Today, about 3 or 3-1/2 miles. The dogs all "dominante" me and roar up ahead, off leash of course. When they first get out of the car, its the distinct sound of thundering hooves....sounds like a Thoroughbred race track, a fast track. Today Toker and Lyric showered me with rocks and dirt. I mean they went from 0-35 in about 3 strides.

Today I worked on training Toker, my newest addition, to do the "check in" like my other three dogs do. Yesterday, she disappeared..this same trail. I didn't know what happened. I was looking off to the left at all the beauty of the forest and when I turned my head back, she was no where to be seen. I called and called. Absolute silence. She usually comes very well. I was getting very nervous. Lyric was getting nervous and the Chihuahuas couldn't care less. So we headed back down the trail....about a mile and here she was coming toward us. Somehow she managed to go back toward where the car was parked on this dirt road which is hardly used. She looked rather alarmed too. So, I decided we need to beef up the stick around closer and you'll get lots of treats trick. As long as she's in my sight, if I call her, she comes.

They get a lot of fun and mental stimulation chasing squirrels and sniffing all over the place. They run many times the distance that I travel which is about 3 miles because of this check in policy I have. Lyric is very good and if there is a bend in the trail, he may go past it just a tad, but then I see him peeking around the corner, watching and waiting for me to catch up. Or he'll run all the way back to me and then dart back up the hill again. Toker will get so she will check in too without my having to call her. But for now, its treats often and calling her before she gets out of my sight, treat, then releasing her again. The Chi's stay very close most of time anyhow.

Today it was a little cloudy, a little breezy and quite warm compared to what it has been. The trees which are half fallen and leaning into another tree were making that hideous rubbing, squeeking noise. That freaks me out. I always wonder when one is going to come crashing down. Besides an occasional sound like that, the woods were eerily quiet. I thought I heard a bear growl, but it was.....again one of those rubbing branches or trees. (I think) Its just about time for them to hybernate, but not quite.

Anyhow, that's our typical walk....a walk through the forest on a trail or an old logging road or along the lake on a trail. This one climbed high, way up and you can look down on the lake. Very pretty and the Tamarack trees are turning yellow. They're very cool trees. I sat down on a log to shake the rocks out of my shoe and just sat there for a minute and listened to the breeze and the quiet. What a treat. Its like its always a vacation here. And its dog heaven on earth.
