Smkie Hyia is soooo sweet. I miss this age with my three. Melissa used to have an imaginary friend that I used to have to buckle her seatbelt in the car, set a place for her at the table, even went as far as having to pour her a glass of milk. I asked her what her friend's name was and she said "Girl" lol I said well, glad to meet you Girl :D She hates when I bring that up now that's she's 16. hehehe (payback for all the other stuff)

I remember one time we were leaving the mall and it was a windy windy day and she stepped out to walk to the car and had to keep folding her hair behind her ears on both sides because of the wind and she looked up at me with again hair across her face and said "Mommy, its SUCH a bad hair day!" Bless her heart. I would love those years again. Another time was when she was finally out of diapers and we were in the grocery store. We passed by the baby diapers/baby food etc. isle and she proclaimed to everyone that could hear her "Mommy, we don't need to go down here no more ... noooo more diapers for me!" Everyone around us was laughing!

Thanks for the memories Smkie! Give Hyia a big (((HUG))) for me and tell her to never ever let go of that imagination!

the old women at the nursing home would tell me.."the best years of your life are when your children are small" ...i tried not to ever take it for granted (AAron was 3 back then and MYPY 7) they were great old women..almost all of them. I only worked there for one year, but those people are more imprinted on my mind then anyone i went to school with or even college. I don't know why other then when you care for someone like that you know them as well as you do your own family.

I also had a blankie that I carried everywhere and slept with. Gustav and Hyia, it must just be something about yellow b/c mine was too, with the satin trim. I buried it with Smokey b/c it was also his blanket. When I got older I had a green and white crocheted one that my great aunt made for me. She also made me one that me and James picked out the yarn while we just started dating, it's on our bed. Maggie always has to have a stuffed animal/doll and a blanket to go to sleep, but she's not particular. She also has had a few imaginary friend's already, though I thought it was kinda early. The first one was Tinkerbell, then the fairy godmother from Cinderella, Dumbo. And a few days ago she was playing and calling "Heska" so that is the first one with a original name. She never keeps them very long though, before she moves on to another. My mom said they thought my sister might be mental, when she was around three, she would hold her hands out in front of her all the time. They finally asked her what she was doing and she told them she was carrying her puppy :D

I find stories of people who were here before me fascinating! That's probably why you felt such a connection. The house I grew up was the second on the street. It was my house that my great great Grandpa built for their family (my grandma and two great aunts) and then built another one up the street for my grandma and great aunt (her sister and two family) Both my Grandpa and geat Uncle Al were in the WWII (my great uncle received the purple heart :) ) My Aunt Ruth met Uncle Al throu letters written to eachother during that war and fell in love and married. Isn't that sooo sweet! I see the old pictures of my house I grew up in and you wouldn't think it was the same house! Just that, there were no houses around ours and there were trolly rails back then.

Anyway, Its kina like that Fried Green Tomato thing. Love those kind of movies!

gapeach..you would understand this then..i told my family if anything ever happened to me my blanket ws to go with Bronki..i had no idea he was going to leave me so soon. I also had a "plan" that if anything happened to me he was to go to my friend Kelly's at that time 10 yr old daughter cause he was a gurl's dog and i knew she would be the only one to give him the attention i did.

Smkie I completely understand that Smkie, my Smokey was my first baby and he was all mine. He loved noone like he did me. We grew up together. I didn't realize when I gave the blanket to Smokey, when he was a pup, that it was my security blanket when I was a baby. Me and my mama were just talking about security items and she told me that the yellow one was mine. Just as fitting that I would give it to my baby and bury him in it 15 years later.

Just a lil thing about letters-- My great aunt and uncle were getting up in years and knew it wouldn't be long before one of them would be gone. So they took all their love letters out and burned them together. :) I thought it was incredibly touching. My mama told them that they should have kept them, that their kids or grandkids would of liked to read them. My aunt said that is exactly why they did it!! :D
