Ewww what's that smell?

I'm not sure where to post this at, so I guess I will do it here. I think most of you know Havoc is my firstborn grandmonster. Todd, Havoc and Rival are staying with us for a few months so Todd can get enough money for a downpayment on a house for the monsters.

Recently, Havoc stinks! Todd said he noticed this smell last year, but it was only on rare occasions. For the last week or two, it is happening frequently. Mostly when he gets excited or stressed. It is the most disgusting smell. A sweet musty stinky smell and it fills the room with it. Any ideas what is causing this smell? Anal gland, possibly?

I have never had a dog smell like this before.

Anal glands come to mind. Another thought is gas. My friend's first Rott would get gassy when he was nervous or excited. We never heard it, just smelled it. In his case, some activated charcoal worked wonders.

The vet appointment went well. The anal glands were full and while they were being expressed it covered the vet tech's arm. Leslie, said the smell was terrible., but Havoc was amazing as always. 181 lbs. He is huge!
