Hey, I'm trying to get some ideas and suggestions for exercising Kennel dogs mentally & physically through out the winter. I know treat balls are wonderful and we hope to have all of our dogs eating out of interactive toys in the near future. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome, I'm hoping for something that's fun and maybe self motivating lol. It's cold in the winter and so much harder to go out and give the dogs the exercise they need. They still get it, but if I could have more ideas and such they'd be getting even more which they need :). Thanks

Alright, I suppose I shoulda said more lol. We do plan to compete and all that, and we are training them. I'm just saying stuff to do on a daily basis. Like simple mind games or something to play in their kennel. I can't really take them any where since I don't have a car and I don't know the area. We could hike, but it's kinda hard around here. I can walk them but I'm kinda scared to. There isn't a whole lot of places to walk here on the property, and I'm afraid to go out on the road by myself. Hate going alone, and my boyfriend broke his foot :(. We have a big fenced in area where I can take them and play and such. I'm hoping to find more ideas and suggestions with all that in mind. Not all know how to play fetch and such. So any and all suggestions would be wonderful! Thank you!

Thanks :) Those sound fun, I've played hide and seek with my dogs before inside, they seem to love it. Out side, I take the dogs to the fenced in area then when they aren't looking, I hide. lol so I guess I already kinda play that with them. I guess I should also add I'm looking for outside stuff to play mostly. The hide the treats game is good too. I used to do that with my old dog all the time. I shall do that with the kennel dogs :). So Anything else anyone can come up with? Remember it's winter and cold lol.

dont laff but i sang a great deal or whistled while i worked..made everybody happy..we had all kinds of goofy games but that was just me one on one being silly as i worked..like mooner so named because the second you turned your back he went for your behind..not hard but still he ripped more then one pocket off my levi's..so i would make scary hands and stern face..he would hit the deck and look all scared and sorry..then i would turn around but before he could get me i would turn again..the things you do when no one is watching! dancing and stuff..just remember i was a teenager..cleaning a lot of outdoor runs by myself..i just tried to make it as fun for them AND me as possible.
throwing snowballs in the winter..catching the water hose spray in the summer..once they came out of course it was all business..10 dogs a day after cleaning and feeding for obedience and then the field work didn't leave much time for anything like fun..fun was new straw in the box day
i always did a body swipe on each dog each day..running my hands from muzzle to tail to make sure no cuts..bumps or swelling were present so kisses in ears and such..tickling the ticklelish spots..a little pull on the end of the tail..i dont know..but it meant a lot to them and was about the most affection they got in one day's time.
