Here's one of my new clients, and possibly the cutest cocker poodle mix I have ever seen!

Cockers can, but its a major fault (at least according to the website I found). Poodles do not, and if there is a "merle" poodle, it is considered to have had something mixed in its lines along the way to introduce this gene.

Cute dog! Nice job on him!

American Cockers can come in merle. It's a debate as to should they come in merle. It's more than a fault. They are unregisterable with any major recolonized KC unless you lie and claim it's another colour which skeazy people do. Lie about it, dog gets papers breed the dog anyhow and keep merle in lines.

A few people I don't find skeazy have been playing with merle in cockers to see if they can get a decent looking cocker that is still merle. Generally the dogs they end up with are pretty, but no longer present as merle except for the eyes.

Most merle cockers are fugly and are so far from breed standard it's atrocious.. The few 'kennels' I've seen breeding for it are often mills, or have some pretty special standards like 'contracts' that are anti hunting, sports, etc. You need to sign that you'll keep your new cocker as a house pet and nothing more.

A kennel I respect who decided to get 2 merle cockers to decide what they thought about them. They didn't breed them and aren't breeding these two. They are 'just for fun'. Pretty enough dog, but short of the eyes it isn't very merle to me. Rudy-Sandcastle & C'lestial's Court Jester

Thsi one is more merle, but the colours on the dog don't do anything for me. Pistol-Sandcastle & C'lestial's Frost'd-Fudj

lol Mick, I own a phantom poodle! Check out this forum for pictures of my dog Zeke. Thanks for the kind comments, she is a real sweet heart and was very good to let me hand scissor her completely at 10 months old!
