I belong to a friend's church food coop and along with the other stuff they send, I almost always get a dozen eggs. I do not eat a whole lot of these, and maybe will use a few in cooking and baking, and I always have an egg surplus.
Are eggs good food to give to dogs? If so, should they be boiled or scrambled first?

You can give your dogs eggs once or twice a week. Some people say you can feed them raw, including the shell and some say feed them cooked. If you decide to cook the eggs, it is up to you how you cook them.

My dogs get a raw egg every other day, shell and all. They love them and it's interesting to see the different techniques they use to get them opened up. One makes a little opening with her front teeth. The other crunches down on it. The GSD will knock it around the yard until it breaks. He's the only one who eats the whole thing. The other 2 leave most of the shell.

Raw eggs are a source of salmonella. The also kill the biotin in a dog's system if feed on a regular basis. If you want to feed shell and all, hard boil. If you are going to bother to cook them, then heck, eat them yourself, rofl.

I feed my dogs raw eggs and raw shells all the time. No problems at all. They love them and it's one of the reasons they have nice, soft fur. I do crush the shells because otherwise they won't eat them.

I give my dogs a raw egg every two days and they LOVE them. They don't like the shells much though and won't eat those but they love eggs. I usually mix it in with their kibble but there have been a few times that I have just given it to them plain. Their coats, I think, are starting to benefit from the eggs as well.

I feed mine 2 times a week. They like it mixed in with their kibble too. Roxy doesn't eat the shell, but Spud and Precious do.

My old dog loved eggs and she did very well on them. Sawyer likes them, but raw eggs give him horrible gas, so it's a rare treat. :)

Well, I've never heard of salmonella being a problem for dogs. What is your source?

My dogs get raw duck eggs a couple times a week. They seem to make their coats alot shinier and smooth.

I've read alot of things about Eggs for dogs and I think I have only heard about the salmonella poisoning a couple times and it has never been proven, so...
