Eating Poop?

My puppy Oreo 4 month old yorkie has been eating poop a lot lately! when i catch him, I tell him in a firm voice stop or no..

but i try not to get him thinking i'm scolding him for pooping.. just for eating it! I have tried to get rid of the poop before he can eat it.. like right after he does his business, i'd have my boyfriend distract him so i could clean it/pick it up asap lol..

but it's getting to the point where i'm just soooo grossed out and i don't know what to do! i've heard that they do it because they lack something in the diet? but i mean is that really true? i'm feeding him Innova Puppy!

I tried spraying bitter apple on their poop.. but he thinks it's even better I'm going to go nuts!

Someone help me pleaseeee!

It doesn't necessarily have anything at all to do with a deficiency, and since he's eating the Innova puppy you can be reasonably sure that isn't the problem.

often it's just something puppies do and they get over it. you can try feeding him some pineapple, which is supposed to make the poop taste less appealing. it might not work, but it's harmless at the very least.

try to not make a big deal out of it, letting your bf distract him so you can pick it up right away is the best thing you can do. you do not want to teach him that poop eating is a way to get your attention.
