Chopper has a yeast infection in his ear and he is very uncomfortable. His next dose of medication isn't due for 4 more hours, is there anything I can give him to help with the itching? He is scratching like crazy at his ear and I've tried everything to distract him but nothing is working.

Can anyone help???

Maybe you could put one of those things around his neck to stop him from scratching?.....I forget what they're called...

With Verbena's rash, I found that you take over and do the rubbing for them, they are not only comforted by your presence, but it helps with some of the itching without them having to scratch. Anytime she starts scratching I tell her 'no' but then I rub her down really good. She goes to sleep and forgets about the itch. I would try just gently rubbing Chopper's ears for a while and see if it helps.

You can gently massage his ears, but don't let him scratch at them, you don't want him to cause a hematoma!

Spud wouldn't even let me near his ears when his were infected. But everytime he tried to scratch, I would tell him no and gently push his leg down. I would get his ears and flip them back so that the yeast would dry up.
