After reading alot of different posts about dog food. I decided to switch my dogs to Eagle Pack from the Eukenuba I was buying at the vets office.

I have three chihuahuas, the oldest being 9 years old and the youngest being 7 years old. I also have a Golden Retriever who is 11 years old and a Beagle who is only 2 years old.

I bought the Eagle Pack "Senior" for the oldest chihuahua and for the golden Retriever. I also got the Eagle Pack "Natural" for the others.

Does this sound like a good diet? I also feed about a 1/4 cup of chicken in the mornings just for a treat...

I just want to make sure my dogs have a great diet. I'm concerned because the vet said that they needed to be on a special diet because their "kidney count was too high", but then I read here that it's not really the amount of protein, its the quality of the protein. Therefore, I switched to Eagle Pack who makes sure the meat in the food is good quality meat and not all the icky stuff other companies put in...

Anyway, I was just wondering what you all thought. Any suggestions or replys would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Unless the dogs other than your chi need a higher fat content in their diet, you could actually feed the Eagle senior food to all of your dogs. If it becomes apparent that any of them needs more fat, simply add some good quality fish body oil. This should simplify things a bit for you, since there's really no need to feed different foods if one formula works out for all of them.

Did your vet say all of your dog's kidney count was "too high"? Or just the older ones? Regardless of that, I would recommend to have bloodwork done regularly to monitor kidney function.
