You mentioned that Eagle Pack is changing formulas, I wondered the same thing when I noticed that they changed their packaging. I asked the man at the store, and he said nothing had changed. (meaning the actual food)

Should I be worried about a downgrade in the foods quality at all?

Do I have to switch again? Ack!

No, no downgrades. I already talked about this with the nutritionist at Eagle.

There will just be some changes to the formulas, eliminating certain ingredients from the Holistic line for example.

I have to run out right now to do a nutrition consultation, but will post more when I get back later this afternoon. :)

Ok, well I have a question then, because all of the canned food is now labelled "Holistic" when before it wasn't. : O

So, should I take that these changes are for the better?

Thanks Mordy, your a godsend.

Basically what they did is split up their lines to market different foods to different target groups.

Products like for example the Large & Giant Breed Puppy, or Senior Care which were previously not in the "Holistic Select" line had those ingredients removed that many consumers ignorantly complained about not being "holistic" (e.g. corn, brewer's yeast), so they will now fit that concept.

Not to say that these ingredients are "bad", in fact they aren't, but I guess this move will make more people happy so they might consider Eagle products over other brands.

Hi Mordy, just came across this thread. Do you know if the change in formula affects their Holistic Fish and Anchovy pack? My lab is having a pretty bad reaction since we started on the new pack... Thanks

Thanks Mordy. I noticed mine is still under the old packaging with the same list of old ingredients. I just couldn't see what else could have triggered this round of allergies esp. she was doing fine after switching to Eagles' a couple of months back and her skin improved with doc's last round of anti inflammatory and antibiotics.

I thought i could finally stop her on the vicious cycle of medicine but sigh....
