Hello my name is Alex, I'm Dutch and living in the Czech Republic. I;m training policedogs for over 25 years now. First like a hobby and then professional. I have 28 dogs the most of them are still small but biting like an aligator. My dogs are malinois with Dutch bloodlines. Those dogs don't have a pedigree but are breed to work and are very stabile with a lpt of drive. I'm new here but maybe there are some people that have a problem with there dogs then of course they can ask me. I will help you out without any fee.
Take care

Alot of people here have misguided views about police dog training so be ready for some arguments with walls :)

Other then that, welcome.

Good morning Alex and welcome. You will soon find alot of people utilizing your expertise. Hehehe here is your first question. I own a 1 1/2 yr old pit bull and a 6 mths old siberian. Pit bull is hyper as all get out and cant be let out to run because she jumps fences I mean 8 foot ones. I am getting her fixed but what can I do to try and teach her not to. And as for the pup well she is just a pup but what commands might I try to keep her from tearing up my yard, my flowers, my hose to my swamp cooler, yes she decided she needed her own waterfountain and had to replace the entire hose. Thanks

Hello Sheba

Thank you for the nice welcome. Seams to me that you have really a big problem over there. You know that pup like to play and of course and bit in all kind of things. They have a big hunting drive. The thing is that children are scramming playing and moving quickly, this is for a pup very nice to play with and bite in or jump to. The normal character from a German shepherd is very protecting his family. Normal after one year this biting is getting less and less. But in your case it is I think different and you have an alpha dog. Is meaning he like to be the head of the family and don’t like someone else to be number one. That can be because he is from working lines and is breed for that. So it is in his genetic. The problem already started in the beginning and maybe you did not react properly on his behavior. But how could you he was only a puppy. You have to handle this with care so you must be hard to the dog but also not to hard because you can break his character and that is I think not what you want. Ok I will try to explain you what you can do. There are more ways to solve the problem. 1.) Get a good color with sharp nails in it not flat but sharp, a long line about 10 meters. Put the dog on the line and let the children play outside. Let them scream move quick run, but the dog can not get to them. The moment the dog likes to go to them you say loud NO and a the same time you pull hard and when I say hard it is not a little. The dog has to jell then you did it good. You call the dog to you and stroke him and speaking nice and soft to him. So the dog learns if he stop directly and come to you he is a good boy. This you have to respite a couple of weeks. The dog has to know how the boss in the house is. If he reacts well on that you let your children do that of course with your help with pulling the line but they are giving the commands. But still your dog needs to play and have a bite in something. It’s therefore good to train him playing with a ball. He can run bite and play. The second way is a way I normal jus with young dogs, I take them at there color pull them up talking loud not to that put there nose against my one and look them staid in there eyes, then I don’t talk but still have him up, slowly put him down and wail your doing that say again a loud NO. If he start to make protest against that when you are pulling him up say louder NO and pull him higher until his entire feed are from the ground. It is a little difficult to say what is the best because normally I have to see the dog how tuff he is. It’s a shame I’m not living close by, seems a very interesting dog. Where does his blood line come from? Czech Republic? Try this and be consequent and “hard” but NO is NO. Hope that it will help you, if not please feel free to ask me again. Thank you for the welcome hope to hear from you soon how it is going.

Respectfully yours,

I know everyone who reads this is going to jump in the air but be advised that I have heard this exact same thing from three other trainers. So I am going to try it with Yukon. Maybe it will stop his biting with the kids. Thank you for taking the time to post.

Hi MyDogsLoveMe.

For your pit bull a good help is a electric color and a wire fence, they cost about $250. This color gives the dog a signal when he enters the fence at a 0.5 meter does the dog go on he will get a small electric correction. After a small pyrite the dog understand that he can only go in the area until the fence. The pup that you have there is a dog that need a lot of play like a puppy’s. You have to try play with him more. For the digging and bite on things it is important that you correct the pup seeing doing this. It’s no point to do it half an hour after that. They correct him like, take him at his color, get him with his front feed of the ground look in his eyes and talk bad and loud to him. Important is that you jus only one word for that. Please don’t hit him it’s only a puppy. Let me know if it helps you. Feel free to ask me again when not.
