Ruby had a 2lb knucklebone, Buster had a normal sized one on the opposite side of the yard. I was out with the shovel before the rain starts.

So of course, she has to go steal his bone and tears up his ear doing so because he didn't give it up on the first bark. Now, my dog looks like a feral cat for at least the next month. She left her giant piece of meat in the middle of the yard, unprotected, just to steal his tiny little one, for reasons only known to her.

Bonus points for Christmas Eve. Luckily, it looks like we wont need to spend a fortune at the E-vet.

This is why I NEVER give my dogs treats/bones in the same room together, ever and I do not care if they are outside or not. They are a cause for fights since they are so "valuable" to them. Sounds like it could have been prevented.. hope your dog will be ok.

I give my dogs bones in the same room, but I make sure I'm between them. Usually they are fine so long as they both have something.

Poor dog :/

Looks like its just the edge, again. Seems to have missed the head and the inner ear at least. Bit hard to tell being dark colored with thick fur though.

Usually, if you supervise, they can be in the same room, and its normally not an issue outside if you're there, but Ruby seems to have learned she can just shove him out of the way now. When I looked down they were 30ft apart, looked up again at a mini dog brawl.

It's one of those things, you just never know, and you can't live your life -- and theirs -- based on what's never happened but might out of the blue on ever count.

Sometimes dogs have moods, just like everyone else, and the quickest way to make sure something wild happens is to give someone else hell when the unexpected happens to them.

Krazy glue GEL is wonderful stuff ;)

I have found some dogs can’t have really yummy chews when together and others can only when supervised. But over the years I have found it’s just easier to not give anything that may cause a problem.
