probably about 10 years ago, my brother made Christmas trees out of beer cans. (GO...maybe it was a TX fad..lol) his buddy made his kids a little playhouse from beer cans...you'd be amazed how nice it was. guess the guys at Ft. Hood all made a contribution. LOL so, after visiting my brother Dave decided he would make a beer can Christmas tree, too. yeah..well...it was outside one year. was a novelty in the ole neighborhood, but I wasn't all that impressed. Dave had fun getting enough cans, tho. 
when we moved, the tree 'somehow' got a bit smashed and had to be tossed out. sometimes I'm just no fun. it's still one of our family's favorite Christmas stories. one of the kids will always say, 'remember the year Dad made that beer can tree?'..........and we laugh hysterically. Dave was so dedicated to that project (duh..of course) and took so much care putting lights in every can. how funny!!!!!!!!!!
