I think I'm going to cry. I was taking my camera out of the bag and my lens fell out and a piece came off. I tried to put it back on and tried the lens to see if it still worked but the pictures came out white and then I couldn't get the lens off. After tinkering with it for a minute, I got the pictures to come out clear but it was still very difficult to take off. There's a clicking noise that sounds painful and definitely wasn't there before. Something is definitely wrong.
The lens was a gift a couple years back and the box says it has a limited warranty but I was never given a proof of purchase and when I attempt to register for the warranty the page says it cannot be found. I'm afraid the lens is a goner.
It is my only lens besides the one that came with the camera and it took such better pictures. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Is there somewhere to send it for repairs? Well, I guess I could contact the company (Tamron) but would it be cheaper to buy a new one? Never thought about that until I started writing this post.
As much as I try to learn, nothing really sticks with me. I still don't know a whole lot about cameras and photography. But incase I can't get this lens fixed, what are your favorite, affordable lenses? I have a Canon Rebel T3. 99% of my photos are action shots of the dogs and maybe a portrait here and there.
