DRAMA!! My dog's bad bum chapter one.

Here is the on going drama. It gets really weird so pay attention

Chapter One.
Dekka was in heat the the end June beginning of July. I waited till the last minute to enter classes as I had other dogs in heat too.

Dekka comes out of heat the week before the trial. All the JRTCC BOD members know Dekka was in heat as we were upfront about why we wanted to send in entries at the last moment. This was all ok.

So we go. Scandal is in heat so stays back at the trailer. Dekka's vulva is still a bit swollen but she has had no discharge of any kind for days. (she can stay swollen for a while)

Dekka wins every class in agility on the Saturday and gets champion. She also places well in super earth.

The next day we are rocking the agility again. We were up to the last class, we had won every class again that day. Then a complaint comes in that Dekka is in heat. I offer to just drop the class as its not a big deal, and I don't want to make more of an issue for my friend who is running the trial. No she says lets get an 'official' ruling. Alright.

Does sound strange that the complaint comes at the last class of the last day doesn't it?

The person who complained. Well its a kid who runs an intact male. Her instructor and mentor is the person who was running the agility. (who I was beating consistently even though she got 7th at the AAC nationals ) Her dog was too distracted to run. Hmm Darien ran Kaiden right after I ran Dekka and he was fine.

Ok so CHAPTER 2

It is decided to check with a known judge and breeder. She looks and sees NO discharge etc. She decides on 'the stud dog test' and brings over a boy. He mounts her and she stands for a moment then turns to eat his face. She didn't make a ruling as while Dekka did stand momentarily she then turned aggressively to the male.

So it was decided (not by me) to take Dekka to the conformation Judges,again I offered to pull her. They told me they thought it was highly suspect that the complaint was coming in AFTER I was winning and at the end of the last day. They both said "nope not in heat". But they said the agility judge would have the final say in her ring so to check with her.

Once again I traipse off to show Dekka's nether parts to another person. This judge also found the complaint strange as there was only one more class to go. She said we should check with the conformation judges as she wasn't a breeder. (but didn't see any discharge so would not have called her in heat) We said we had talked to the conformation judges. She told us to get in writing in case there was an issue later on. I said 'meh I didn't care' but Laura thought it was a good idea and went and got it.

The conformation judge laughed and thought it was strange. In retrospect it was a great idea. The trial chair went over and told the people the issue was dealt with and was resolved that Dekka was not in heat. This person was NOT happy about it.

So Dekka and I ran our last class of the day and blew it. In part because I hadn't warmed her up nor walked the course. It was gambler's and we racked up 36 points in the opening but failed the gamble.

You would think that would be the end of it wouldn't you?? Not by a long shot.

lol you know how I feel about this whole mess. No wonder I quit them and got of the DOB all those years ago lol.

Just curious about something, the kid/you and I know who, that put the complaint in, have they trialed anywhere else yet? An Q's or Titles yet or are they just hoping to boost one said breeders ah hmmmmmmmmmmmmm performance (for the lack of a better word) dogs????? Speed???????? whats that??

Chapter 3

So the people who had an issue with their (insufficiently trained dog...who to my knowledge is NOT titled in any other venue) decided to make a stink. Their breeder calls the board to complain. The whole rumour mill gets going. It now said that Dekka was in heat cause she stood for a male. They want their money back. Umm how about you train your dog BEFORE you enter it?

The BOD says no. Then the people keep pushing. They keep talking it up till members of the BOD actually start believing that Dekka was in heat. Nasty emails start showing up saying I should have just pulled Dekka. WTF!? I offered too.

No I should have just done it anyway. So basically if you are me and ANYONE claims my dog is in heat I should not run it. I should pull and eat my entries. NICE.

Oh and the other issue...

So Darien is the only child (that we see on the sheets) in child handler. When we go to get the ribbon he gets second. I ask why second as he was the only child entered. I get snarked at "he got SECOND!!" Ok fine what ever.

The results were never available to be seen. Nor were they posted. The reason given was that the program to enter the results wasn't working (or wasn't there... not clear on that point) So it was done by hand and then taken home to be entered.

When the results were posted Darien WAS the only child entered. Turns out another kid did enter but wasn't on the sheets. HMMM those sheets were the ones that were used to tabulate the ribbons, but they aren't there when you tabulate at home? Oh it gets better.

The person who won champion (who is not part of the fracas) does not show up as entered on the results sheet. I got first in Jumpers with a Q, but the results show me as getting second and no Q. The person in 'first' also has no Q in the results but got one (legitimately) at the trial. Hmmmmm but this is not a concern at all to the BOD. Just my 'sneakyness' at running a girl in heat.

Now the strange thing is most of these people should know I really don't care about ribbons. I just go to have a great time with my dogs. Heck Zo was reserve champion in GTG the year before at the Canadian Nationals and they messed up so I didn't get the massive ribbon and prize at the trial. I still don't have it. Have I thrown a fit? No. I know my dog did great. I do want the ribbon but not enough to make a fuss over it. (its still sitting at someone's house waiting for me to get it, or it to come to me) At AAC (read real agility) I often don't pick up my ribbons. Do I sound like someone who would run a dog in heat just to get ribbons?

its a rule. It is concidered to distracting for the other dogs. (and really for anyone who has ever worked with a girl in heat... who would WANT to show a girl in heat in something like agility or obed. Their brains are elsewhere)

Dekka, that sucks. I would have made a fuss simply because it would've made me and my dog look badly. Whoever complained is obviously a sore loser..
