Just remember that after Dookie pulls through, you've got some serious disinfecting to do EVERYWHERE...car, house, yard, laundry...sunlight kills Parvo supposedly, but it's a pretty tenacious disease.

Hi Jonas....I hope the poor baby is doing better. I would also recommend Pedialite ....Gatorade has too much sugar...

I also wanted to recommend that you disinfect yourself.... Change your clothes, bleach your shoes..get a cheap throw rug or carpet remnant, and put lots of bleach on it. Every time you or others in the household go in or out, *especially when you come back in* stand on the bleach soaked rug to clean the bottom (germs can travel there too, ya know) and leave the shoes by the door. That way you don't track it thru the house. Lots of hand sanitizer..every time you touch the dog,(or have been out in public) before you do something else, wash those hands. Also, poor Dookie's system will be weak, so you don't want to bring in anything he can't handle.

My advice would be to just throw away all bedding, toys, food bowls, etc...after this is over...better to be safe than sorry...

Keeping paws crossed :)

thanks. I have been told many times about bleach solutions so I knew it would have to be done. But it's a small sacfrifice to keep my dog alive and healthy. Thanks again for your prayers and support.

Im glad he's doing well and I hope he pulls through. I lost my Husky to Parvo 6 years ago :(. Its a nasty business. That was before I had ever even heard of Parvo and we caught it too late. I really do wish the best for your boy.

I think you're just amazing for what you're doing for your dog. Many people wouldn't - you are a rare one, and deserve admiration and respect. Your dog is very, very lucky to have you. What a wonderful parent you are.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dookie - hope he pulls through, brave little guy :)

Thanks guys. Just finished giving him his IV. He urined and it came out a bit dark, thus giving him his IV a bit early. Giving him small amounts of liquid diet and more of home made chicken broth (my aunts a nurse in mexico and she recommended it, she's even used it on many or her dogs) and it has been working. He' almost there. Can't be too careless though.

Oh it is sounding real good. Each day is a sign he may come through. I feel so bad for him it is an awful illness but as I say I have brought many through it.
Clean every thing as you go. Do not let any dogs near him. Sounds as if this little darling really has the will and you do to. Good luck and you have all my best wishes.

Much more energy, today at 5AM when I fed him he put up a little fight. He has not thrown up ANY food (thank god). No more large amounts of diahrea. Each day there's a small sign, better a small sign than nothing.

That is so great to hear! Be vigilant, and he'll pull through. He certainly sounds like a fiesty little guy.

He ate two pieces of solid kibble from his regular food right now!
There is nothing like the sound of crunching food coming from a puppy that was half dead just hours before.

Eating dry food on his own is a great sign that he is over it.
