Hello,

A friend mine has a Airdale with 11 months of age. The dog always became dominant and aggressive (with the owner still not) because the owner let him do what it want. He is loving, adores to play, never for quiet, however if someone opposes it bites imediatly. I do not know as to act with the dog whith its owner near(who finds that the dog is very well). The only thing that it makes good is to seat, all the other basic commands still did not learn. How I must act to the dog?

I have to admit I got a chuckle from the title, "Dominant Airedale." Is there any other kind of Airedale? These are the largest of the Terriers (if you don't count the Black Russian as a true Terrier), and even the smallest Terrier is, in it's own mind, Master (or Mistress) of the Known Universe.

Truthfully, the best way to deal with this dog is probably a combination of keeping treats in your pocket to reward it when it treats you in a friendly manner and ignoring it completely when it is being obnoxious. And definitely try to stay out of it's way when it's in an aggressive mood.

This Airedale is in for a nasty shock when the Dogo puppy you're getting grows up! She's not going to tolerate another dog acting aggressively toward you and the Airedale is going to be completely overmatched.
