My spaniels are both almost housetrained and soil inside very rarely. They do however soil the entire yard, leaving me the horrible task of cleaning it up every Saturday morning. 
I want to train them to defecate in one area of the yard. i have tried putting a crate there and carrying them into that area whenever they start to go but it only makes them frightened of going to the toilet and they continue to do it over the entire garden when i am not there. I have also tried using repellents and things, and they have worked to a certain extent, but i use almost a bottle a day to spray my whole yard! Are there any methods that you could recommend??: another problem is that i feed them and then go to work so i am not around in the mornings, which is when they do their business, but with the easter holidays approaching, i am prepared to devote a whole 3 weeks in order for these dogs to learn how to soil in one area.
