Sophie my daughter named. It was one of her best, You should of seen others she was thinking.

Bender got his name from that cartoon show Futurama.

Ozzy, well, I dunno, we had him for about two weeks and we couldn't come up with anything we agreed on. Steven wanted to name him Sparticus, and I flat out put my foot down, even though I could see him being named that. He has the right personality, but I'm the one training the dog, and I am not yelling out the back door that name at 11 o'clock at night. And it would have been shortened to Sparky at some point.

One night we were all sitting around, and a friend was hanging out with us. He goes "Ya'll have GOT to name that puppy something!" And we were trying out names and he just goes "How about Ozzy? Like Ozzy Osbourne?" And that was it, he was Ozzy. We call him OzMoTroz, and OzMan, and Senor and OzFest, etc, lol, he has a lot of funny nick names, not all of them family appropriate.

Jett, well, I had been thinking all day of a good name for her, and nothing was working out right. I couldn't call her puppy, because she was already a fully grown dog, I even had everyone in chat trying to come up with a name for her, and we got some weird ones, lol, (Not saying who came up with the weirdest DrMom!)

My mother called me out to the porch and said, "How about Jet?" I said, "NO!" and she said, "No, like Joan Jett?" And I said, "Well that's better."

Lol, people say they can hear the extra 't' on the end of her name, I just look at them like they are crazy. :p

Our first dog was already named Dusty when we got her from the rescue. We could have changed her name but the kids wanted to keep it. I call her Dusty Buttons. I have no idea where that came from.
our second pup, is Daisy, again I got out voted on that. I wanted to name her Ozzie. :p shes definatly not a daisy LOL. not to mention 2 dogs with names so close isnt great either. Sometimes I call her Daisy Boo.

Thunder - he was Corbin when I got him, and I changed it to Caleb but after a few days it just wasn't working. So I made a list of names, tried them all, and Thunder just fit the best.

Sammy - my niece's Chow passed away at the same time I rescued Sammy's mom. Her chow's name was Samantha but they called her Sam. I named Sammy in honor of her.

Scooter - John was starting to buy and trade some scooters at the same time we adopted Scooter the puppy... that's the name he picked.

Juno - John named her too, he loves the movie Juno.

Marley - John named him, he said it just came to him.

And the puppies... Emmy is named in memory of my Great-Grandmother (Emma) who passed away 3 years ago, and we're still trying to find the perfect name for her brother, right now he's "Buddy".

The beauty of Bamm's name was that I didn't have to name him. His original name was Gideon, but when he was at his foster's she renamed him Bamm Bamm. I loved it. He responded to it. So I stuck with it.

You know how they say be careful what you name your dogs? umm... Bamm Bamm is a little trouble maker... think the Bam Bam from the Flintstones...

Any body ever see that clip of Ozzy biting the head off a bat?

Yeah. Be really careful what you name your dogs. The death toll here is in the hundreds for small and furry animals.

Zubin was the 9th puppy, named after Beethovens 9th Symphony ( last I sang with the Westminster choir) with conductor Zubin Metha.
Femka is taken off her original name. Her original name was meaning " Precious"- also her nick name.
Hottie was Infared- ie " hot" internet type slang. However- I had a teen ager and it went to "hot dog" to " hottie" and stuck.
Galina was named after a Russian Ballerina.

Rylie is my favorite name, and I wasn't ever planning on having kids when I got her.

Chloe's breeder started calling her Chloe from the beginning, and I love the name so I didn't change it. Their names fit well together.

See...there was this Chihuahua (or so we thought)....everytime we would drive past this certain house this dog would bark. I named that dog Pepperoni.
When we got our new pup my brother sent me a list of names that I had always loved....he also mentioned Pepperoni.
And it stuck. Of course, she would be called Pepper more, haha
And I think her being a mutt it fit :)

I named Mary after a little girl i babsat that i was smitten with. After that i let other people name them. Mom seemed determined to find "the right name" for Victor so when she had her mind made up that as the name he got. IT took me a while to get use to, as it did PEpper but all is good. My son's girlfriend named pepper.

Osa got her name from the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica where my wife and I honeymooned. It also means "bear" in spanish and she is definitely our little bear.

Tallulah was Lulu originally, but it didn't suit her. I wanted something that fit her, but wasn't too far off, and since she is a petite little fireball with a penchant for drama (and chewing the scenery), naming her after Tallulah Bankhead seemed to fit. And boy, does it ever, lmao!

Bimmer was a hard one to fit. In the end, he is black, shiny, mostly German, VERY fast, maneuverable, quick, quiet, sleek, dependable, and he's the only dog ever to ride in the 750il . . . So Bimmer was a good fit for him :)

Kharma . . . well, I knew the last thing the wretch who poisoned Buffy wanted to see was another Buffy back to haunt him. And then there is good Kharma, there is bad Kharma, when she's after something there is Instant Kharma, and Kharma is definitely payback - one way or another. Kharma can also be a very large bitch ;)

Or something that takes very good care of you.

I've always liked mythology and the Gods.

Ares was named for the Greek God of War, Tyr was named for the Norse God of War, Nyx was named for the Greek primordial Goddess of Night.

Morgan needed a name that was part celtic (corgi, Welsh influence) and part cowgirl (she was a rough and tumble type of puppy). Morgan just fit perfectly. At some point, I started calling her Morrigan, who I later looked up and found out is a Celtic Goddess of War.

Other dogs I named ~ Athena - for the Greek Goddess of War, Wisdom. Leo for the astrological Leo (his mom's name was Zodiac), Piper (for Piper on Charmed).

Raja is the name of the tiger on Aladdin, and my sister picked it out for her. It seemed to suit her, so I agreed.

Gwen is really Gwenevere, and my friend picked that for her.

Sairi is one I picked. It means Lilly. I'm not really sure why I picked it, though. It just popped into my head, and it seemed to work for her.
