On the evening of 09/18/2007 a man lost his phone and internet service. After repeated calls to his provider via cellphone and inspecting his equiptment and wiring he was left with only his cellphone for communications. The local provider sent a crew out the following day to see if there was a problem between the street and the house. "No house wiring connected in the telco box" was the note left by the dispatch crew sent to investigate the problem. The DC didnt see the bare copper under the connections in the telco box or the hole in the area where the house wire enters the telco box. They also didnt see the house wire lying on the ground underneath their telco box.

One of my dogs last night after 7 PM decided to pull the house wire from the telco box leaving me without phone or internet. If they hadnt done that I wouldnt have discovered that the drive belt on my furnace fan had jumped of and wasnt moving air to heat my house.

One of my Dogs did the same thing. I think it was the Pup, but none of them are talking.

Radio Shack hooked me up with what I needed to fix it. Now the line is wrapped in rat-wire.

One day my phone started getting a lot of hissing and crackling on it, and after I checked the cord, and the other phones, I called the phone company, and they came out the next day. King had apparently decided to chew one thing, period, and it was the phone line. The repairman fixed the break and put some armor over the line to prevent rechewing the line. No charge!

It's the only thing King or Molly ever chewed up. It was so easy with these two, I know next time, it will he horrible, like my Pit Mix Gus was in 1985. Dah HORROR!!

Me thinks that someone was telling you you spend too much time on either the phone or internet. ~LOL~

My foster apparently doesn't like me being on-line or cleaning my house since he chewed TWO power cords for my laptop & the vacuum power cord.

I can't tell you how many times Charlie has done this to me. I ended up having to put fence about 6" away from the house to keep him from getting to some phone wires, and I had to completely surround my central air unit with fence because he kept ripping wires out of it.

We had the phone & electrical wires boxed in because mine thought it was so much fun to chew on the new toys called wires!

LOL, sounds like something my husband would do and then blame the dog. :D

We had problems with our phone lines a few years ago. We live in an old neighborhood, at least 100 years +, and a few old lines that needs be replaced. The connection to our house started to act wonkey on use and did so for a few months. I call our phone company several time for them to come and check it out, we weren't sure if it was a problem cause through our phone box or by the phone pole, but I guess were weren't a priority since they had us on some sort of waiting list.

A little while later we came home after going shopping one rainy Saturday/or/Sunday and came home to frantic door bell rings at our front door. We had 2 police officers there stating that someone in our house called 911. When I called my phone company about it we finally got a repair person to come check it out the very next day and came to find out it was the old wiring at the phone pole that wasn't completely connected (or something like it) and the water during the rain was short circuiting it and cause our phone to call 911.

My thought on this is that we have a very smart phone who needed medical help so it call 911. lol

The only times that ever happened to me (wires being cut and services disrupted) were when my step-dad dug through or pick axed through the wires in the yard.

I feel for you though...these days it's hard to not be connected.
