So today I was thinking about how 'man's best friend' is so loyal and it made me laugh. Why? Because both of mine would definitely leave me in an instant. Summer would gladly trade me for anyone else that is a human. And Mia, well, Mia would trade me in for her very own squirrel I'm 100% sure.

So what would your dogs leave you for? lol

Peewee food of any sort. Ivan would only leave me for a handful of others. But I can forgive him for 2 of them because they where the ones that brought him into the world.

One of my dogs is ALL about his ball. The others seem to live for me, they would rather have me tell them good job and pet them then get any reward. I have had dogs spit out a treat and come to me for a pet and praise.

A kitty.
A bunny.
Someone who will touch her.
A kitty.
A little kid or baby.
Kitties.
Maybe a cookie. But she'd come back when she was done.
A kitty.
A sunbeam.

Delilah would leave me for just about anyone. Root is super attached to me, and I don't think he would leave me. Calli is the same, she took a liking to me and she trusts me, so I doubt that much of anything would sway her.

I don't know that they're really loyal, as in....the way people think of the definition of the word. I do think they love. But bottom line...ya gotta go where the food is. So, if we stopped feeding our pets, they'd lose their loyalty really fast.....at least most dogs. And they'd go where the food source is. Not all. You hear some incredible and weird stories.

All 3 of mine probably food if they were hungry enough, but I'm not sure. As I've fed them before and then gone to lay down for a while figuring they'd follow me after they were done. I woke a few hours later only to find that there were still 3 full bowls of food left...

BB, I notice a theme there...

Mine would leave me without a backward glance if their Aunt Joan beckoned.

Izzy would leave me for Justin lol. She's really his dog though. She'd probably leave him for a strange female though, she looooves happy female visitors. She's wary of the men which I find funny since she's attached to Justin. She doesn't take food from strangers so that wouldn't do it, maybe for a strange dog, she looooves playmates.

I think Daisy would die without me... I left her with my best friend who she ZOMGLOVES for one day, and she peed in his house like 8 times in protest.

Liz would leave for anything remotely interesting... Abby's another that would rather die, but if it were a close friend that's babysat her before she could be coerced. Eerie would give me up for her Daddy in a heartbeat... but I'm pretty sure she'd give us both over for her own zombie raccoon that she can keep chewing on night after night... Rage would leave us for something shiny.

Autumn would trade us both for a squirrel.

Riley? Maybe someone calling, 'puppy, puppy, puppy' in a happy voice. He's more likely to go to a woman than a man, though.

Murph & Mick? I don't think they'd leave, unless they were starving, although their hunting skills are pretty darned good. When we're out walking, if I lag too far behind, they'll come back looking for me. Both are leery of strangers and won't take food (even really high value treats) from someone they don't know.
