It's raining nonstop in DC today :( Poor Lucy is sitting at the back door, staring outside pathetically. I hate days like today--I actually have today off, so I was hoping to take her to the dog park to burn some energy, and then run a few errands with her, but the rain is too much of a deterrant.

I did manage to squeeze in a walk early this morning before it started, but I feel bad. I know she wouldn't mind running around in the rain, but I can't fathom standing out there with an umbrella and encouraging her to play in the mud. Ugh.

Aaaaaaaand forecast is rain all weekend. Booo. Days like today make me want to move back to California! (Or just get home with a yard, so she can run around without me.)

Just needed to whine a little :)

Oh gosh, you should try having papillons in the rain. My one real gripe about them is they can't stand water at all. Water on the ground is just icky. You basically have to force them outside to go potty and then the whole time they glare at you as if to say 'I hate you.'

That is like the only time the girls are as prissy as they look. Beau doesn't seem to mind the rain, but the girls absolutely hate it with a passion.

Only one of mine...the mix cares. The others...and esp Cleo range from don't mind it to LOVING it. Guess which one loves it? Hint...the one that is the MOST work to get dry and mudless

It rained here pretty good all day yesterday, but still took Thomas for his regular walk. I got a couple of confused looks at the beginning, but then he was all for it. That's the great thing about puppies, they don't know they should be put off.

ya I live in Manassas, VA and it rained all evening and is still raining now... at least it's raining right now in McLean which is where I work. I had to walk home from the bus stop yesterday after work since I metro and it was a 30 minute walk in a torrential downpour... needless to say I got my shower for the day...

and I forgot my umbrella today too... crappp

Gunnar doesn't care about the rain. It can be raining pretty good and he'll just sit on the top step of the porch with his front legs on the next step down, watching the world go by. If it's REALLY coming down he won't stay out long though, but anything up to a steady rain he doesn't mind. Daisy will also go out but she won't sit there like he does. She'll do her business and come in. Bruzer and Buzz you have to literally pick up and take outside when its raining. Bruzer will actually hide from you.

My dogs hate the rain, Zeus especially. One time my sister took Zeus jogging with her, and it started to drizzle in the middle of it. Zeus stopped in his tracks, refused to move, and started howling and crying like he was going to die. My sis had to call my hubby to come pick them up.

But oddly, they love mud. They think it's the greatest stuff in the world. They'll romp in it all day long. And we have that nasty red clay mud, too. Ick.

when roofus first encountered rain, he sat outside on the deck and tried to catch it as it fell down.

Now none of them really like rain, but we have the command GO POTTY so I will just shove their poor pathetic shelves out into a downpour and force them to potty. I always have handy dandy towels waiting by the door.

Yay, we snuck in an hour of play time in between showers! We were the only ones in the dog park, but it worked out because we could work on her recall without big distractions.

Of course, she jumped into the car before I got to wipe off her paws, but if that's the worst of it, it was a good day :)
