All of my dogs have attempted it and I have had all girls

My last dog, did it all the time no matter what, but we were not strict with her ( I was very young when we got her)

A stern NO, and move your arm, leg, whatever away usually works.

Oh My.....I was wondering at what age group the humping would start, so if they are fixed will they not do it? Or at least not have any thing sticking out to do it with...ewww!

None of my dogs have ever humped me or other people... so idk. The best idea would be to get him snipped, so he doesn't have those raging hormones ;0)

Well Charlie the toy poodle I am training with has started to do that and he is about 6 months old and his "balls" are leaving on the 20th of October!!!! And they should stop humping after that!!!

Lizzie did the same thing before she got spayed and then after she did she stop doing it!!!! :)

I would get him fixed

I would get him fixed. We got Wrigley done at 4 months with no problem. He has humped for the first time this week (8 months) and it has been once--not sure what is going on there--but he has never done it before and we will not tolerate him trying it again.

Humping is not necessarily a sexual behavior. You can get your dog fixed, and he might continue humping anyway. It sounds to me like your dog is testing out a dominant behavior.

When Tosca began to get very affectionate with inanimate objects, I made the ole spay appointment very quickly. She hasn't done it since. This is a good thing, because if she tried this stunt with her cat Mojo, she would have been bleeding from the face.
