I'm being told the house smells like dogs. I can't smell anything...

Not a wet dog smell, and it doesnt reek... but it smells like dogs. Any idea what the heck they're talking about? I seriously don't notice anything.

Or any ideas on how to make it not smell? The dogs need to be groomed (washed them before driving back) and no one has poop on them, or has rolled in anything...

Who told you that? Someone that likes or doesn't like dogs? I love the smell of dogs... except for wet dog. So as long as it doesn't smell like wet dog, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you do want to greet your guests with an odor other than the wonderful smell of dogs, try a Glade plug in or burn some incense.

My mom and sister.

My mom wasn't being mean, just says it smells like dog. And I know I'm immune to it.

Cook fish. Lots of fish. And smoke cigars.

No one will notice the dog smell anymore.

I put odor ban, or even a cup of vinegar water in my air return, it keeps the house fresh and cuts down on odors.

Febreze...mmmm....I like spraying some on the curtains and upholstery every once and a while. Although I'm sure it still smells like dog for those undog people who come visit but I don't care. :p

Forget farting and fish. What you need to do is make some dehydrated liver treats in a slow oven. No one will notice the doggy smell anymore, and the doggies themselves will be very happy.

Lol People have never said that to me since we got the carpet out and got wood floors... carpet seems to really suck in the dog smell.

Get some candles, or febreze or w/e but i wouldnt worry about it lol I cant smell it unless it wet dog or "i just rolled around in **** and dead animal" dog lol

My friend has ferrets and she cant smell it but when i walk into her room it hits me like a TRAIN!

baking soda--put a few boxes out on the counter--open the lids, and it should help to absorb some of the odor.
Or, you could use some of the very creative ideas you've already been given... :D

Try putting some fabric softener sheets in the rads, when the furnace fan runs the smell goes through the whole house.

Yes, houses can have a 'dog smell.' That's how the rooms Dahlia has spent most of her time in smell right now, to be honest, because she is kind of in need of a bath. I'm going to vacuum the carpet in here and put some baking soda in it for a bit, then vacuum it out. That has always worked for me when things start to smell doggy - or worse, like cat.

It usually end up being the carpet, here. I sprinkle baking soda in the carpet and let is sit while we walk the dogs, or sit with them outside for about 10-15mins... then vacuum up. The whole house seems cleaner, magically!

I'm not crazy about doggie smelling house. When I was a kid I had a friend with a black lab and her house was dogstered up pretty good.....anyway, I have a puppy as you all know, and I bought a Bissell 2X Proheat and I put Nature's Miracle in the solution tank, if necessary. Sometimes I use Bissell Pet Odor and Stain Forumula. Works like a charm. One of these days we are going to take up the carpet in the living room, but til then, I am trucking around with the carpet cleaner.

Of course, I also use Fabreeze, candles and/or a fragrance air freshener by WoodWicks. My house smells pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Things like febreeze and such don't get rid of the smell, they just mask it. I like the idea of using baking soda. I'll try that. I can't imagine having a house that smelled like dog and febreeze. Ick. lol
