Use treats, show them how it works and hold it open (get on the other side and call them or entice them to go through it using treats) they will eventually get the hang of it!
We had to put a leash on our dog the first time and kind of guide him through it a few times
Be careful though.. many other pests/animals will use dog doors to get in your house (rats, raccoons etc..)

Hello, to train an animal the best way is to use Ivan Pavlov's methods of classical conditioning. Fran101 is correct.
When ever your dog does a desired behavior, give him a treat. With repetition your dog will be bale to be conditioned to respond to a signal, then he does the behavior he is being trained (conditioned to do) and expect a treat (reward from you). This is a very effective and used by all animal trainers.
