does anyone have a doggie dooley system (septic tank for pet waste?)
more specifically the 3800 model...

ive been thinking about getting one of these for a few years and once we actually get someplace with a yard im thinking its a much better option than leaving it laying round or garbage bagging it.

but, were probably goign to be renting for a good 2 years still, and they require digging.
the 3800 is a pyramid unit and form pictures it looks like only the bottom few inches of this model need be burried...
but i cant find any real info on this.

i don thtink i could get away with diging a 2ft deep hole in a rental yard to put the other style in...but 12 inches down for the pyramid would be much easier to fix.

or do you have better options/suggestions for dealing with poop.

leaving it in the grass not going to be an option with the kid haveing outdoor acess...
and garbage bagging is just a pain in the tush...(and so wastefull)

That sounds like a cool unit. What we did is just take a 5 gallon bucket and sink it into the ground in the corner near the poo area. Then I got an old toilet seat to lay over the top, to keep Aurelia out.

I just go on a scooping rounds when I turn the dogs out. Put the poo in the bucket, sprinkle a little sawdust on to cover the smell. When it gets full I'm going to dump it out somewhere in the pasture/woods where it can finish composting.

That system is the ultra low budget version, based on composting toilets for human use.

I would too like to know what ppl use. I plan on fencing in a bit of the yard soon for the dogs, and picking up poo and then walking thru the house with it is just plain ol' icky.
