what kind of dog food is best for my dog? I have heard that purina is best. Then someone said IAMS. Currently I just buy what evers cheapest but im going to buy him something different because he isnt really eating that anymore.

I heard Science diet is pretty good but I dont know where to get it. Does anyone know?

None of the above foods you mentioned are quality. Buying whatever is cheapest will give you what you pay for, poor quality.

Here is a list of some good foods. Every dog is different, so you will have to see what works best with your dog. On these website you will find a "store locater" link that will show you where you can buy the food locally.

These foods will "appear" more expensive, but you really do feed less and your dog will be a LOT healthier. Canidae is probably the least expensive for the quality.

I second what Showpug said... cheap foods usually mean lower quality (although a high quality brand ends up saving you money in the long run).

Iams is horrible food. I don't think it's fair for you to buy the "cheapest" food for you dog.

While the cost of dog food is a factor for many...think about the health benefits of a better quality food.

Ever seen the movie "Super Size Me"? You can survive off of McDonalds (maybe not for long, but you can survive) but you won't be healthy and you'll end up at the doctor once a month for life, or you can eat healthier food, live a full life, and save on doctor bills.

With a better quality food, you will end up saving money. Dog eats less (and poops less...YAY!) and will be much healthier, end the end, saving you $$$ at the vet.
