I make these for all the critters! Even my cats will eat them, my dogs love them. Its a big recipe, but is easily reduced.

KOOOKIES

8 cups steel cut oats
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup shredded carrot
1cup shredded apple
3 eggs
2 tbsp salt
1/3 cup lard
1& 1/2 cups molasses
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
Put everything in a big ol' bowl and mix it up good. will be very stiff, but moist and workable. add more molasses as needed. (molasses is easier to use if heated in microwave) I line 9x14 pans with reynolds clean release aluminum foil. Press mixture into baking pans to desired thickness, will take several pans. Bake at 300 45-70 min depending on thickness. Remove from oven. let cool 1/2 hour then invert onto cutting surface, and immediately cut into logs. Makes as many as you make! :) If they don't cool off to be crunchy, put them back in for a bit.

Now that looks like a great recipe! If I ever get an oven to work again I'm going to try that one.

I've found some that are similar at the feed store. Mother Nature Natural Dog Treats Carrot Cakes. Shiva and Kharma are insane over them, lol. You should see them when I get the bag down. They run over and sit down and I can literally watch the drool puddles grow on the floor under each one. :D Bimmer likes the Branstone cookies made with buffalo.
