I helped with a dog transport over the week-end and these are the 3 cute dogs I had the honour of meeting.

This is Peanut, a 13 year old Chihuahua. Cute as a button, but looked so sad.

This is Aja, a Lhasa Apso/Papillon mix. Also a senior and very sweet. Her fur is SO soft.

And last but not least, this rottie mix boy! He is with our rescue, and the other two went to different rescues. He's got interesting colouring, because he's got the markings of a Rottweiler, but instead of mahogany it's brindle.
What are your breed guesses?

This boy actually peed inside my car!! :yikes: I look back and he's got his leg hiked up peeing on one of the crates. Thank god it was a plastic one because the Lhasa Apso/Papillon mix would have gotten drenched with urine if it was a wire crate.

I wonder if the brindle points and white patch are "mis-marks" in Rotts? If not, then I'll say maybe he has some Lab in him.

edited- honestly, the only reason I said Lab was becuase the Rottweiler markings are a mis-mark in Labs, as is the white chest.

I've never heard of brindle in labs though.

Oh man, Peanut is SO adorable! I always feel so bad for senior dogs in rescues. I hope she ends up with a great home.
I know, if I didn't have so many big dogs I would have scooped her up and taken her home with me.

Labs carry a brindle gene naturally also black and tan points, could very well explain the markings.

They're adorable, thank you so much for helping!

I had a dog like that in one of my puppy classes. Looked rott but with brindle instead of red. She was a mastiff/rott mix.

Thank you for the link :)
Very intersting mismarks. Love the puppy with the black mosiac face!! In a heartbeat he would be mine lol.
You're welcome. She has a lot of really good info on her site- both general dog and Lab related. That pup is adorable, isn't he? Of course, he isn't a pup anymore. LOL

To me, the rott looks like he has a touch of boxer in him. His nose turns up just a bit, and that would explain the brindle as well.
