Pitbulliest, it isn't a matter of being evil..it is good to hear all aspects of a free range dog park. All things are not for all dogs..I am happy to hear about the beach front and agility equipment. I think that would be a wonderful addition to shawnee..I just wanted to see what other parks are like and what other people had experienced there..at shwanee, most people bring their dog on the leash the first time, or until they can trust that it won't leave forever, if a dog is behaving in an objectionable manner they leave pretty quick. The park is for the Victor's of the world that just want to play and run. I could never let this dog run like the wind anywhere else, he hasn't a mean bone in his body, and this kind of park is heaven for him. I would like to travel one day and hope to visit other parks...Shawnee is one of the largest, at 54 or so acres. We only get to go once a week, but by golly this is a good dog for the next three days and sooooo happy. I would never try to convience anyone to do anything they were not sure about..only the owner knows if his dog is the type of personality to go. Finding water for a dog to play in is rough out here. We have lots of water, but it is full of broken bottles and fish hooks. My lab once had to have 80 stitches from a fish hook that caught and he just kept going with his retrieve. Here I can let them splash and try to dunk each other, race to the ball and have a great time.
