Just saw your post! The Cape is an awesome place! We just got back with our 2 dogs and had a blast! Our dogs are worn out from swimming, chasing crabs and running around with other dogs! They love to go out boating with us too, though I can't get them on the kayak or large raft!

Not with your dogs! You're dogs are allowed only on a pet friendly beach! It's no fun to take them if they can't go out and play too!

WendyJackson, I have a question about having your dogs on the boat. How did you make sure they stayed in the boat lol. I know that sounds wierd but we are going camping in August and will be using a boat and I know Teddy would really enjoy a boat ride BUT I don't want him to jump over board into the water lol. How do you make sure they stay in? or do your dogs just know?

We can go to any beach here...

I don't think it is as strict as the US regarding where you can and can't take dogs etc.

We can go on beaches anywhere as long as they are on the leash.

And that is a very pretty beach.

Our dogs have never tried to jump off! Buzz loves to have his nose up in the wind when we're moving!

The last 10 miles of the Cape is St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and the last 7 of it doesn't have roads--just beach and bay wilderness. We take the boat out there and anchor just off shore and have to "help" him off the boat! We all wade in and explore! It's awesome!

Now that he's a bit bigger it's a LOT tougher to get him back on board, but well worth it!

Gypsy has been on boats and canoes. I was a little nervous about the canoe thing, I was afraid she'd tip us over but she just stood in front, navigating.

She was very good on a boat too, the hardest part was getting her on and off.

I know, I think it looks like so much fun. This may be my next vacation destination. Well, after Vegas for my friend's wedding.
