:( I feel using a bullet over the other options officers have is just going over the line. And it worries me when people don't know the differences between animal and human aggression.

ETA: As sad at this is, and as much as I feel there are other ways to handle these situations, the man probably was not unaware of his dog being dog aggressive and he shouldn't have had the dog there in the first place knowing there'd be others about. And hopefully, if he gets another dog of this sort (or any other dog at all really), he keeps that in mind. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

That's when a D.C. police officer took over, putting his knee in the middle of Parrot's back while he pulled the dog's forelegs behind him, Block said. He said that the officer then grabbed Parrot by his neck and threw him over a banister at the Brass Knob antique store
WTF?? Seriously?

Jacob Kishter, commander of the 3rd Police District, said that once the officer pushed the dog down the stairwell, "the dog immediately turns and runs at the officer aggressively."
Well yea...even my nicest dog would turn defensive after being kneed in the middle of the back, grabbed by the neck and thrown over a banister. :madgo:

I just heard about this. So terrible. I remember seeing this dog on petfinder recently. It's DISGUSTING that the police can get away with this.

It certainly looks like the officer had the dog fully "subdued" just with a knee in the back - why the heck did he feel the need to throw it??

This is absolutely terrible, that poor dog.

The truth may lie somewhere in the middle, but either way, this kind of news just isn't what pit bulls need.

That is sick.
And we give these people guns and expect them to protect us?
