Does anyone else have crazy dog obsessed parents?

Well I do. Teagan is staying at Tylers place because he is going out of town and he wont see her for a month or so. So he wanted some quality time with his baby girl. Anyways for the past couple days in the morning when my mom realizes that Teagan is not with me so starts whinning.

"poor baby Teagan she is proble crying because she misses her gradma so much Blah blah" all the while she is saying that in a baby voice.

She does this all the time even when Teagan is around lol. I think its because Teagan is a subsitute until I have children

So does any of your parents do that?

I swear my mom loves Sawyer more than she loves me LOL. Its gotten to the point where she can't sleep without him in her bed with her. Its actually really cute.

She will happily invite him up to sit (literally sit) on her lap blocking her view. And she is just as happy as can be lol.

She baby talks him and snuggles her face against him.

I always jokingly complain that she has stolen my dog lol.

She loves the other dogs as well as all the other animals. If she wasent such a animal lover I wouldn't be able to have the animals I do.

The moment I knew she really loved Sawyer something special. Was when he and Lilo totally gutted her old leather couch. She said in that moment that Sawyer had to go. And then the next day in tears she told me she couldn't make me give him away. He was too special.

Lilo would have stayed if she and Maggie weren't getting into violent fights.

I am another lucky one. My parents love my dog. It is amazing how soft they have become in their old age.

My parents don't mind dogs, my Dad is interested when I talk about them and my Mom likes the dos that we have. She would like a small dog and often jokes (I hope) about getting rid of Sam for some fluffy little breed. They don't love dogs like I do or like most people here do but they do like dogs. :)

haha yes I am VERY lucky that my parents love animals just as much as I do. I pretty much had every kind of pet under the sun lol. And they love ALL animals. The did not know about Teagan until the day before I was suppose to pick her up all they asked was "what breed?" I said "westie" and showed them pictures and it was smooth sailing after that. But I knew in the beginning that it would be no big deal. I just wanted it to be a suprise.

My Brother and his Girlfriend brought home a rabbit and samething my parents adore Buns even though she is a Phyco Beotch lol. She pretty much has the run of the house when she is let out of her pen.

Technically Casey is the family dog, but really he's my mom or should I say my mom is his. He adores her and my mom call him " our little brother" BLAHA!!!

Alot of the talk at home involved dogs and dog breeds and when breed of dog I or they would like to have next. I have a great relationship with my parents. I lover them!!

Bella stole my mom's heart. She went from hating having dogs inside the house to not even considering ever throwing her to the back yard. Plus she buys her all these toys and takes her to the pet salon at least once a month.

Today she called me (from out of town) and made me put bella on speaker so she could talk to her. It was too funny but adorable.

My whole family adores Gavroche. And yes, my mom says she's his grandma xD

That being said, nobody in my family really understands dogs besides my dad and me. My brother and my mom are great at "untraining" dogs though >.<

I actually almost posted a rant about this a couple weeks ago. I told my parents that we were considering fostering and my dad goes "Well I guess that's.....noble," in an extremely snide manner. He's very lucky I was on the phone and not in person. They also got mad when my sister got her second dog but didn't care as much when Matt and I did (I think that was due to size tho as Megan has a large and and extra large and we have a small and a medium lol). They absolutely do not understand, and do not want to, why I have rats or why I insist on stopping to help dogs on the road. It actually makes me really really mad so I try to just not talk to them about it. :dunno:

My mom really loves my dogs. As many of you know, Millie is my heart dog. Millie is my mom's heart dog as well, and my grandmother's heart dog.
My mom's not a person who has to have a dog like I do, but there are some breeds and chaz dogs she's smitten with. :D She's was a little like the average owner, but she's open to everything I taught her and now has more knowledgeable views of breeding and nutrition/dog food. That to me puts her distinctly ahead. She's always valued our animals as members of the family and that puts her ahead of the average dog owner too in my eyes.
I'm proud of her, actually. For a person who was terrified of all dogs and had horrible experiences with them, she's come a long way and is largely supportive of all my dog-related decisions.
My dad likes dogs (GSDs in particular) but doesn't know a lot about them and doesn't care to know either.

My paternal grandparents. . .they have always had small dogs (lhasa apsos, pekingese, shih tzus) and now they have a Bichon Frise, the puppy of their last Bichon who they backyard bred. They also bred their Lhasa Apsos, who I grew up with. They swear by Science Diet since their vet recommends it. They like small dogs but aren't very educated. They're also firmly in the "Rottweilers/"Pit Bulls"/Dobermans are vicious, man-eating monsters" group. I hated my grandpa's comments about my rotties.

My mother was NOT a dog person. She had never been around dogs and never wanted to be.

She positively would not have been able to tolerate my dogs. Katie Mae sheds too much. Monday is too rambunctious. Both are FAR too big. She might have done OK with a little 'un like Romeo or Summer, but Mia would probably be too much.

That said, my mother was so absolutely loyal to me that she would have MADE herself get along with them--or tried to, anyway. I have no idea at all about my dad.

I really envy those of you who had animals while growing up and who now have parents that like/love dogs. If only...

My mom likes the dogs and sometimes she's a bit nuttier about it than I am. I never wanted Juno to be allowed on the furniture and my mom has always been part of the "NO dogs on furniture EVER" camp. But a small Juno puppy was too irresistible for her, and now she LIKES Juno being on the couch and she will invite her up even after I've told her to get down! She likes snuggling with her. lol. And Juno is a lap dog--she is not content just laying next to you, she will plop herself down right on top of you.

She gives Juno part of her apple every. single. day. And will yell at people if they throw away any apple lol. "Juno would have eaten that!!"

Lucy is her baby. She kisses on that dog all day long.

My dad just gives them their daily Beggin Strip and then wants them out of his face lol. Although he will sometimes play tug with Juno, and then he wonders why she drops her tug toy in his lap every time she sees him :D

Harleigh is her "gambaby".... She is Harleigh's "Gammy", so that is where she got the "gambaby" instead of "grandbaby"... LOL :p
