I am thinking of getting Bear a pumpkin costume for Halloween but I need some ideas as to wear to get it.
I won't order offline, but will buy from a store.
Petsmart, Target, etc?

Do you plan to dress up your pups? If so, share your ideas.
:D

Victor is going to be Doc Vic again and i am getting ready to make Pepper's nurse hat. Why don't you make the costume? ITs a challange but way more fun. I go to the thrift store and sort through the children's costumes and then alter them. The price is certainly right and you can get just about any size if you hunt around.

I bought the two wee kids' costumes at Target this year. Much less, cost wise, and yet they seem to be more secure and better fitting than the ones they had last year from Petco.

Also, if you use the online store, there are cute options for larger dogs, which I've had issue finding.

Regis will wear his pimp costume because it's so fitting :) I got it at a halloween store.

I'm not sure about Kyrie.. I can't buy it now because I have NO idea what size she will be in an entire month.. I'll have to grab something real quick at Walmart for her and buy an entirely new outfit next year when she's done growing LOL!

I have a hot dog costume (I mean, come on..of course I have to have one of those being a dachshund owner). And we also have a dinosaur we got from Target (Its green..) but it is a little too big for my dogs. Going to try and fix that though!

And then we have a princess dress, and a vampire. But most likely I won't dress anyone up unless I go to this Halloween Pooch parade we have every year. Then I will use all the costumes.

You can alter children's costumes but if they have arm holes you have to take into account that your dog is about twice the back of a child and half the chest, does that make sense?

I'm a fan of homemade costumes. Here are two I made:

A kid's pumpkin costume is probably pretty easy as there's lots of wiggle room. Just don't forget the traditional black turtleneck, that'll knock 'em dead!

I really really wanted to dress up Lucy as the ladybug or bumble bee I saw at Target yesterday...but then I imagined her poor eyes staring up at me, asking why I was embarrassing her so!

I might do it anyway. They were only $10, and SO darn cute. I wish we had trick-or-treaters in our apartment complex so I could show her off :)

Costume for your dog

Hi there,

If you're looking for a store that sells reasonably priced costumes for pets, I recommend Wal-Mart.

You can see their online selection here:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=615821

Although a lot of these are only sold online, you can have it shipped to your local store and pick it up there.

As for my dog, I'm planning to go with a frog costume, which I'll naturally get from my company's online store :)

Can't wait to see everyone's Halloween pet pictures!

Omg! I am the right person for you hunny! I am into fashion designing and I am always dressing my baby up in cutsie little clothes! I suggest a princess or maybe a Princess or an angel! Something totally girly and pink!! I don't suggest a place like Wal-Mart or dollar store, they are made so cheap that it don't attach onto the dog. If you want to get a good costume that looks great get it for a good price. The better the price the better the value. I've gotten mine at Target, they have good costumes. Make sure the fabric is sturdy and not thin. Thin fabric will make your pooch look cheesy and cheap. You can get good fabric for a cheap price too if you are on a budget.
