IT doesn't say if this was the first bite or what,,if a first bite, I wonder why the owner is giving up so fast,,??? Passing the problem on to someone else?

If this were my dog, (I wouldn't be looking to rehome to start with), I would be very very leery of placing him into another home unless I had some kind of liability waiver signed by the new owner..

Personally, the owner should step up if he loves the dog so much , and work with him!!!

As a note, I live about 25 minutes from cromwell..

That is crap. She wasn't watching her dog and something bad happened. She should be rehomed not the dog.

i think she might be using this as an excuse to get rid of the dog... instead of wanting to train or work on problems they just want to get rid of it

I think in a controlled situation, such as a dog in a rescue, it could be rehomed. Simply because biting the mailman is like this--

The dog sees mailman everyday, kids say "Go get 'em!", laugh, And otherwise rile him up to the point where he's super, SUPER frustrated because somebody is constantly invading his space, and there's nothing he can do about it. Until the day he gets out, that is. And the family is teaching him to be the aggressor.

I'll bet, that with someone experienced, the dog could be broken of the bad habit in a few days. The dog never would have started in the first place. However, because of this family's stupidity, the dog has now "Bitten." and become a dangerous dog, incapable of being rehomed.

But I think it's irresponsible for a family like this to rehome a dog like that.

yeah, that was my first impression, this dog is being dumped-and i've noticed, sadly enough that these free lists are full of pets being tossed away for various reasons-
My own dogs seem to hate our carrier.....there is a remedy for this? I am so embarassed by their behavior EVERY single day- we have a strong latch, and a screen barrier, but it shames me they bark so badly at her-

My dog loves the mailman. He gives her treats. Whenever she hears the truck drive up, she starts ringing her "go out" bell and dancing excitedly. We walk out and she wags her tail excitedly at the mailman and he gives her a biscuit.

She prefers the UPS biscuits because of the coating on them, but the USPS guys biscuits are larger :D

The JRTRO often gets dogs in who have bit...bit kids, bit adults. With proper retraining the dogs are carefully rehomed with no more issues than normal when placing a dog.
